We were loyal customers for over 20 years. We just switched to another agency. Our insurance policy added our daughter in law who never lived with us making our policy double in monthly payments. I left a message over the weekend. I called in the morning and was told my agent would handle it. She emailed me the second the phone hung up saying she would look into it.
Several hours later I called back and asked to speak to my agent. I was placed on hold and was told she was on the phone with another client. Waited another several hours and no contact either through email or phone. My husband spoke directly to the insurance provider who took our daughter in law off but was going to need certain proof like a bill of hers.
Her insurance card with another insurance company in another state wasn't going to be good enough until my husband told her our son is a Marine and they live on base. They don't have electric or water bills and they don't have cable so there was no other proof we could provide them. Why we needed to show proof for someone who never once lived in our home and lives in another state 10 hours away is beyond me.
No phone call, no emails, no letters asking if she lived there before they fraudulently added her. They claimed they sent a letter but I have informed delivery with the USPS and none was sent. The agent for the insurance provider informed us that they will take her off yet they still raised our priced $200 a month claiming our other son was not on the policy.
He was! Our policy had just renewed and he was on our previous policy with the same exact price we had been paying all along. They also put our other son who just turned 16 on the policy as a list only driver even though they were informed he doesn't even have a permit and he will not be getting a permit soon since we want to wait until he's 17. Still no word from our Joy agent.
I'm being polite by not naming her. My husband calls back and asks for her only to be told she's out to lunch well after lunch time. My husband questions her being out to lunch. Within seconds she emails us addressing my husband telling him her phone has been having issues all day. Funny, she was on the line when I called. The office didn't have any trouble with their phones.
She couldn't have used another phone in the office or her personal cell phone? Why didn't she email us in this time frame before he questioned her being out to lunch so late in the afternoon? Her email told us that she will send them the insurance cards I emailed her at 9 a.m. I emailed her back and told her we already spoke to the insurance provider and took her off but they raised our prices because they claimed our one son wasn't on the policy (when I had proof he was before) and added our son who doesn't even have a permit.
I asked her if there was any other insurance provider that could give us better rates. You know, her job to do as an insurance agent! Never heard a word back from her. We got insurance from another agency with all of our policies with my son they claimed wasn't on the policy and the price was about $50 cheaper than what we had been paying up until they fraudulently added our daughter in law. Proving once again our son was on the policy because the price range was not a drastic change. They lost loyal customers because of one negligent agent! Hopefully you all will be fine if you don't have to deal with the agent we did.

I found Joy Insurance to be responsive and thorough. My phone calls were answered by a polite person who was kind and supportive. I worked with Karen to find commercial insurance and my business is complex so she had to work pretty hard. She found me a policy to fit my needs and my budget. Although I am newer to the Middletown area, I hope to use them for years to come.

I wasn't happy with my previous insurance and knew I wanted to change companies. My previous car died and I needed to get another immediately or I wouldn't have made it to work, and a coworker would have been stuck on a 24 hour shift. They got my insurance sorted out so freakin' quickly my head spun. Professional and super friendly and knowledgeable. They found me a great deal too. I would recommend them to anyone!

I started with Joy Insurance last year, and contacted them in July to upgrade my current coverage. I get being short staffed and am very patient with responses, but when I still haven't received a quote in over 5 weeks, and only receive vague emails, I guess I am going to have to take my business elsewhere.
