In 1966, Gerard P. Smith was working for a major insurance carrier when he realized that something was missing. So, he parted ways with the major carrier and set up a desk and telephone in the family room of his village home.

I just called the agency, because I'm looking for health insurance myself. Julie picked up and she was as sweet as honey! Just that alone will be given at least 3 stars. Once I get to talk more with them, I'll update my review. UPDATE: I just spoke with Mr. Ian Smith. He was super kind and sweet. Unfortunately, they don't provide individual health insurance, but he will be having another agency get in touch with me soon. Even though I couldn't go through Mr. Smith's agency with my needs, I still give them a 5 star for kindness and helpfulness in what they could do.

I was sent to Ian from a friend who had nothing but positive comments. As I finalized my first house, I met with Ian and his company to get rates. The experience was great. Easy, efficient, and worry free. Very poor customer service! Tom was rude, and uninformative. Made it clear they had so much business they really didn't need mine. Most people would agree trying to get competitive insurance quotes isn't much fun to begin with, but they actually made it even more time consuming and irritating than other companies. If an agent can't listen to his customers at the beginning, then good luck when you really need them. Tom repeated himself, and wasted my time, very slow. Had enough of them, called another agent right here in Webster, and got much better service. Sincerely suggest you try another insurance agency, there's plenty of them!

Smith Insurance has been our business insurance company for the last 3 years. We've had great service, and the premiums have been lower than the last agency we had.
