Listen to the bad reviews and don't go with this company, they are so unprofessional, unresponsive and their adjuster is an lazy and a liar. The amount of lies the adjuster said in reviewing the damage from our claim was unbelievable, he claimed items made within the past 12 years were made in the 1960's to avoid paying, stupidly because we have records of everything, he is so unprofessional he left other customers personal information in my home, he rarely responded to questions if not outright ignored them.
The whole company is unprofessional and shouldn't even be in business. Go anywhere but here for your home insurance, once you are forced to make a claim you will definitely regret it, good luck if you do! There is a good chance you'll have an unusable home and be fighting for months on things so simple and unnecessary.

Avoid this insurance carrier! They say that you don't know your insurance company until you need to file a claim. I am extremely dissatisfied for the lack of professionalism and support from Bedford Grange. I will certainly not recommend them to anyone in the future. I understand that my policy was for ACV, but the way that they attempted to undercut the claim before I pushed back was abhorrent.
Especially since I was paying such a high premium compared to other companies and coverages. I would have at least expected better customer service than that. This was a clear indication that they were looking to take advantage of me. Regretfully, I had to escalate things which cost me more of my time and money, but I ultimately got reimbursed on my claim what I should have received in the first place (one year later).
To top it all off, this was a claim that is to be subrogated to a 3rd party and I was not in any way at fault for the loss. This is the kind of company that gives insurance carriers a bad name.

TERRIBLE, Very TERRIBLE experience. I actually never spoke to this company until I needed them years later; though I was covered by them for approximently ten years. I went through my car insurance that connected me with them to get the "bundled deal". They insured my home but, never came out to see it. I should have figured something then. The adjuster was very rude, and if you get him you'll see what I mean.
I never made an insurance claim in all those years until now. I obtained 2 estimates, both for $6000+. After much heated debate, Bedford Grange Mutual approved $1080 for 2 rooms damaged by a water pipe issue! Try getting even a small amount of dry wall hung/finished/painted, insulation, moulding and door trim back up, new carpet padding and carpet professionally stretched and fastened down again, with labor, for that amount of money.
They would not approve new carpeting, they said it could be fixed by shampoo and detergent cleaning. They also encouraged me to use the company that cleaned up the watery mess to complete the construction, but their website is only for clean up, but was told they are usually cheaper. Strange? I finally talked to someone from the insurance company and when I was asking her questions about where is the check (that they forgot to send a week ago) she actually asked me if I was serious about the questions I was asking. Again, very rude. Unbelievable.
I'm not hard to get along with and heard multiple, as I'm sure you have, about insurance claims that are handled, but from the example I just gave you, you determine if this is the company for you. Buyer Beware! UPDATE: After receiving my check for damages, they dropped me from the insurance a few days later. They said there was a problem with my flue. Interestingly enough their adjuster said to me the following words after his visit to see the damage.
There seems to be a few small issues, but overall its okay. You have a small leak from your sink drain in the kitchen and you should get the pipes looked at by a plumber since on failed, but that's it. Wow, how shady is that? Due to the fact of dropping me for something they never mentioned and a month or so later, but directly after they had to issue me a check. Ever see those people complaining on the Liberty insurance commercials? I had to actually live it.
