From humble beginnings at Scott's "home office" in 1999, the agency expanded deliberately one small step at a time. It started in commercial property and casualty insurance with a focus on the biggest expense for most business: workers compensation insurance. We pursued and obtained several direct mono-line workers compensation insurance company appointments as well as joining an insurance cluster for other lines.
Thanks for looking into this. There are three business expenses that I can always count on going up, insurance, taxes, and trash removal. Even when business revenues go down, they go up. I appreciate you guys doing the best you can for us to keep our costs down. Great, I will get these signed and send to you with checks. Thank you for finding the lower quote for us. I was going to shop around, but since you already have I don't have to do all the work now.

Scott Neumann
Manager
Scott Neumann has held various positions in his 30 years in the insurance industry.
A unique breadth was gained from having worked with companies on different levels of the insurance distribution chain from home offices to field offices; from Managing General Agencies to independent insurance agency. As such he has worked closely with all types of clients from international reinsurers and large brokerage houses to small town agents and family businesses.
Scott supervised a territory for the Aetna home office Commercial Division and coordinated product development and underwriting for various product lines. One special project for the commercial lines AVP involved contracting with a managing general agent in Belgium and a subsequent follow-up on-site audit of their business.
For Peerless he worked both on the home office and field office level. He was a home office manager reporting to the Underwriting VP. He also moved his department to another city and recruited and trained new employees for a field office operation.
At Great American he re-established a waning territory as an underwriting marketing representative for all commercial lines of business. He made presentations at meetings attended by the company president as well as before the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. He was also involved with Loss Prevention. Scott reported to the Sr. VP.
A unique opportunity presented itself with Berkshire Hathaway to work for the president and establish its first branch office in North Carolina. Berkshire Hathaway had no agents and no preexisting business, so everything was established from scratch. All commercial lines were marketed and underwritten. Later eastern Tennessee was added for Specialty Commercial Auto. Eventually staff was expanded, including the addition of loss control.
The Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation was completed in 1990.
A year later the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) was attained. He was also among the first to earn the Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM) designation.
Scott graduated with honors from Kings Point, one of the five federal academies, which he attended with a congressional appointment. Extensive work has been done on an MBA degree.
He is a licensed property and liability agent and broker in the state of North Carolina.
Scott has founded his own insurance operation, serving the insurance needs of the businesses and individuals of North Carolina. He is licensed to do all types of property and liability insurance including: auto, homeowners and all lines of business insurance. The agency specializes in Workers Compensation and tough-to-insure risks.
