I had water leak in 2 rooms in my house caused damage to dry wall, wood and carpets. I had a plumber repair for the leaks underneath the cement slabs in the 2 rooms. I sent state farm invoices of carpets replacement, sanitation to avoid fungus formation, dry wall and wood repair, leak detection and plumber repair. They did not send an agent to inspect what happened until I insisted to have one to have a look.
Finally one guy came to the house for few minutes and took off. My claim was denied without informing me. They intended denying my claim from the beginning. What a bunch of crooks claiming fake slogan in their advertisement.

So I had a small claim with State Farm where someone opened their door when I was at the grocery store and left the scene and left me with a small dent and a scratch on my driver's side back quarter panel. My experience stated out fine with State Farm claims where they told me to go online with Caliber Collision where you take pictures and they got back to me with a quote of $1200. StateFarm claims called me the next day to schedule me an appointment to get my car repaired.
After some thought, I decided to take a cash settlement and that was where my problem began. They told me that there was another department that dealt with cash settlements and that they would be in touch. Well they called me and said that I needed to go online to their pocket estimator and get another quote. I told them I did not understand why I had to do that because I already had a quote from Caliber Collision and I also told them that I did not feel comfortable dealing with a StateFarm person.
At first they told me that I had to but finally told me that they would accept another Caliber Collision estimate but I had to let Calliber Collision look at it in perso. I agreed and they set me up an appointment with Caliber Collision. The Caliber Collision person was very nice and did a great job of explaining all the work was necessary to get the paint to match and told me the quote would be between $1200 and $1600 much like the online quote.
But when he submitted it to the claims agent, she would not accept the quote. She reduced the amount of work needed to amount to a $520 claim and the StateFarm claims person has never seen my vehicle but she is manipulating the claim to StateFarm's favor. Manipulating claims may not be illegal but it sure sounds illegal. I went with StateFarm not because they are the cheapest but because I thought I could count of them if you had a claim.

State farm is just garbage. All the way around. If you are just a normal hard working person who doesn't have the time to read all the fine print. Do NOT get coverage with State farm. They don't take the time to explain anything to you as a customer. When you do have a claim they will find a way to get out of helping you. If you are a hard working person who doesn't have the time to read between the lines forget state farm.

I have been insured by State Farm for many years and never had a claim. Recently, my car was struck by an uninsured driver. The entire front bumper of my car was ripped off. I contacted State Farm and they said I should consult a repair shop of their choice. I did and sent them photos of my car with the damage. They contacted Nissan (I had a 22 year old Nissan Sentra) and they were told the parts needed had been discontinued, so my car could not be repaired (even though the rest of the car was in good condition).
They did not state any further information to me about what to do. I planned to donate my car to a charity and told the claims person that I was going to do that, and they didn't say anything about not doing it or waiting for any period of time before doing so. I filed a claim with State Farm and was told I would likely be paid at least some money for the loss of my car. Turns out this was not true.
I was not told anything about how to handle the situation beyond consulting with a repair shop. I waited a week or two before contacting my agent about what I had been told and they knew nothing about it. They connected me to the Claims Dept., and it turns out I should have (for unknown reasons) turned my car in to State Farm and given them the keys and let them deal with it.
I was also told I would not be receiving any money for the loss of my car. I figured since I had already lost my car, I would still give it to a charity. and I did. Literally all the houses around me, 4 i can see from my back porch, both neighbors to the sides of me 2 of the 3 across from me received checks from their insurance companies due to a sever storm we recently had. The neighbor across from me and myself have- or had, State Farm. State Farm has denied ALL claims of any damage even though the wind blew singles loose and their own adjuster threw them down onto my back porch stoop.
One of my roof vents shows DENTS from hail damage but State Farm States the vent is damaged by HAIL but says no damage to roof! PLEASE CANCEL YOUR HOME POLICY AT LEAST! Most people cannot afford to pay full roof cost after a storm but the "Good Neighbor" thing went out the window when you try to file a claim! Jake from State Farm needs to be put in jail for the way he lies!

I too had a bad claim experience. My local agent was good and responsive. But when my catalytic converter was stolen, I was without a car for eight days because their adjuster could not visually inspect the car. Also be aware, if you get in an accident, State Farm will raise your rates to cover their payout. So you are paying premiums and you have to pay for your own repairs.
I am always suspicious of any insurance company that spends so much money on TV ads that they can't be treating their customers fairly. Try Nerdwallet and Policy Genius to find the best rates and service.

Their slogan should be, "like a shitty neighbor, State Farm is there." They are total criminals at that agency. State Farm's client hit our car and ran. They are extremely difficult to deal with and have yet to pay out claim. I'm unfortunately going to have to sue them. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about getting insurance, DO NOT USE STATE FARM! They suck ass!

AVOID State Farm Insurance. You may as well hold your wallet up to your head and pull the trigger. After 15 years with no claims, I filed a claim for water and mold damage at my condo in N. Myrtle Beach SC that was caused by a failing code-required tee trap drip valve hooked into a working drain behind a wall in my closet. They paid to repair the water damage--but ZERO to pay for the mold damage, which they claimed was not covered. (not mentioned in my contract) They said I would have had to request extra coverage for mold damage had I wanted it.
That was never mentioned. I switched to the same company that holds the master insurance policy for our condo complex, which does cover mold damage, and I will not purchase my auto insurance from State Farm as well. This will at least cost them more money than they just cost me. I have seen an ad on tv where an insurance co. tells you to only pay for what you need.
What consumers need are insurance companies that honor claims for what we paid for. I would have thought the state of South Carolina investigates and regulates insurance companies, but I apparently would be wrong about that. Protect yourself!

If I could give State Farm less than this I would. Terrible customer service. High prices. I was in a hit and run accident (SC Tag # 5064PK - Grey Ford Taurus - driven by some black girl (around mid to late 20s)). Told me to f off and drove off. I had witnesses to the incident. The idiot sheriff who took down the information wrote it down incorrectly and then never investigated the accident (SC SUCKS!).
Now SF is telling me I need to pay (1) to get my vehicle fixed; and (2) pay for a rental (even though I have paid over $120 a month for insurance. Seems to me that having insurance is not worth the money. Why should I spend my hard earned money when I get nothing in return? So - good bye SF and good riddance!

State Farm is the worst when it comes to auto claims. Don't fall for their low premiums. I was stuck with $6200 repair bill. The repair estimate was $10,200 and State Farm issued a check for $3800. They didn't care that their recommended shop for repair was backlogged for 60 days. Just awful. Stay away. POS company

For all their advertising they do not care about their customers. Their corporate office is rude and not willing to take responsibility for their mistake. Neither does Mike Petka who but the blame on corporate and the insurance underwriters even when it was documented to clearly be his fault. Today we switched auto and home and saved over 50%. Was State Farm for 20 years paying up to $800 a month auto + home insurance recent accident they dropped the ball. did not pay except a fraction. did not communicate with me blee me off. I dumped them do not use State Farm they're expensive and there is zero customer service when it really matters. Horrible customer service.

State Farm Corporate is not a good company at all. I took out a bundle plan (home and car insurance). I thought I would be dealing with local people who would understand your circumstances better than corporate people, and care. It more expensive than my separate plans that I held previously. I made a bad move to change from Geico. I had an accident where a woman hit me at a 4 way stop.
She claimed that it was my fault, I claimed it was hers, no one stopped to witness. I was hit on the driver's side rear panel and bumper. The cost was over $4000. The police declared it a no-fault, due to the other driver's squabbling. The agent in the corporate office of my State Farm Insurance, that the opposing driver contacted, accepted her review of the accident.
I had to contact a supervisor to GIVE my statement, the original agent was going to accept the other driver's account. The evidence was the hit from the opposing driver to my bumper; clearly she did not stop, and I was already IN the intersection. State Farm paid my damage on the car. I had medical issues immediately from the accident and went directly to the out-patient clinic.
I continued treating with the facility for over 2 months. NOW, State Farm is suing me. They are trying to reject my claim on my own underinsured/ uninsured motorist coverage and my PIP plan with them. Forget just receiving the compensation you PAID FOR and getting your legitimate medical treatments covered. The opposing driver was deemed at fault, by State Farm, but then they changed their mind, midstream, and closed the case.
Now they have hired an attorney to challenge my rights to my own, paid for, coverage. (My Son had an accident under our Geico plan and everything was smooth as glass.) This current accident has been a nightmare with State Farm Corporate and it was a much more straightforward, simple case. My idea that I would be dealing with local people that care about you was "pie in the sky". They care only about not paying out, what you've paid for, for years.

This office has some of the hardest working people I've met. I've primarily only worked with Tammy but she has been wonderful from when I was first getting quotes to helping me through my recent accident. She helped me get answers to all my questions and really took the time to help me out. Matt even got involved and really helped get me through to the claims and get some answers. It's extremely frustrating getting into an accident, but having this office to call for help seriously helped me through it all. Thanks again guys!

If I could give it zero star I would, they are the worst. they opened a claim just because I called and asked about my coverage. They told me that I wasn't covered for Mold and the next thing I know they denied to renew my policy, telling me because I have a claim. you get insurance incase if you get in accident but they only want to get your money nothing else. there are a lot of other cheaper insurances. STAY AWAY FROM STATE FARM.

If I could give State Farm Insurance zero stars I would. It is a scam. They are putting my mom through hell just to get enough money for her house repairs after the 2021 Texas winter storms. Her claim was started in February. I am writing this review in August, and they are still fighting us over crumbs during a pandemic. It is a disgrace and I am fed up with their lies and games.

I have multiple coverages; home, autos, rentals, umbrella, earth quake with State Farm. Been with them for 37 years and have had only one claim for a minor kitchen fire. I wanted to add a recently acquired classic car, and was told the premium for basic coverage would be close to $700/yr. I have no tickets, no DUI, no accidents, i.e. a very clean driving record.
I decided to go with Hagerty for the classic car. The premium for much superior coverage is almost half of what State Farm wanted. All was well until the annual premium on my liability umbrella policy was due. The rate was increased 92.5%. It took some doing, but I finally got an answer as to why the huge increase. I was told my underlying coverage with Hagerty was where it should be, BUT I could reduce that coverage, thereby creating a "gap" and State Farm would have no way of knowing that, hence the 92.5% increase.
I pointed out to my agent that if I were to be so stupid as to do that I would be financially responsible for the gap. She said the underwriters decide the risks and hence the premium. That is unacceptable. After 37 years I'm looking for another insurance company.

Update. today I officially got rid of State Farm for my primary residence. I had changed insurances on my rental property after they "dogged" me with my claim. I swore I would get rid of them with my other property's. today that happened. I officially sent them a "shove it" email & switched to USAA. Jake from State Farm can "suck it". I will NEVER buy insurance from this company again. I don't card if I have to pay double. State Farm sucks! 2 months later. sooo glad I got rid of Jake' State Farm! Best decision ever.

Well, "Like a Good Neighbor" State Farm should be there? Unless you need them. If you have other insurance options, I highly recommend you take it. If you are a mind reader, enjoy being yelled at, enjoy being talked over when you ask a question, don't mind waiting, and don't mind not getting someone to answer your calls.then whoo hoo.you hit the jackpot.

I recently got a brand new vehicle and after only 3 weeks was unfortunate enough to have a deer crash into it. This agency will not write the policy that you ask for don't tell you about coverages or lack of coverage and deductibles are set high to get your monthly payment down to only get your business give you a high deductible on comprehensive coverage so that you have to pay for anything that happens to your car especially like windshields or glass. breakage.
Didn't cover a trailer of mine with no where near enough coverage to be replaced. Her only interest is to write your policy protect State Farm so they have to pay out as little as possible and have your concerns on the back burner unless you want to write another policy with her. So be extremely cautious to do business with her you will get.

Her only interest is to write your policy protect State Farm so they have to pay out as little as possible and have your concerns on the back burner unless you want to write another policy with her. We did business with State Farm for over 40 years. They were always happy to get our premiums. We had many years without a claim. Then when we had a claim they raised our premiums to five times the previous amount. We had 4 claims on our home owners policy in 40 years, and they cancelled our policy. We were able to get insurance from Nationwide for a much lower cost, and have gotten good customer service.
Customer service from State Farm from the agent has been horrible with terrible communication. I will say that they did a good job with claims. The experience with the agents and assuring coverage has been too difficult. I am so glad to be rid of them!

I've had two cases of them where they were supposed to send documents to the DMV once for myself and once for my uncle. neither time did they send the items. I just received notification my registration is revoked after they received and confirmed they had the documents but they never sent them. find yourself a different agent if you don't want issues.

Setup policies correctly. Nothing against Brian but a couple years back setup a policy. I told them I needed full coverage which they should have done anyways on a new car. Had an issue with car went to make a claim come to find out the whole time I was being cheated paying full coverage price for liability and was unable to make a claim due to this luckily no major damage.

I have had nothing but a terrible experience with State Farm and this agency as a whole. If it is this hard to recieve a $20 refund I would hate for anyone to be in an actual bind and have to claim something. Judging from the other reviews it seems this is an issue for this agency. I called and got a renter's policy on December 22nd paid and was squared away.
On the morning of December 23rd I recieved a phone call from Jeff says welcome to the State Farm family we are so happy to have you etc. Around 3 o'clock that afternoon they called to tell me they could no longer cover me and that I would recieve a refund in about 2 weeks. Well 3 weeks passed no refund so I called customer service because now I've not only not recieved my refund but now I have recieved a bill for January, the customer service agent informs me that my policy was never cancelled and she is not really sure why?
She will need to reach out to the local branch and determine what is going on. So, no they all decide that it should have been cancelled but still hasn't been? So now I've recieved no refund but a letter stating I will have coverage until February 8th why would I still have coverage if my policy was cancelled in December? I am still to this day waiting on a $20 refund and just this morning recieved yet another letter in the mail from State Farm.

So just recently I started shopping around for better auto insurance. Not to say that don't have good insurance right now, but it is costly! On my way home today, I happen to come across this sign, and as I read this (or fate if you would call it) I came across this sign. as for anyone that knows me, knows I have a short attention. so when I'm reading if "Bored?" I highly recommend Gina Lynch's state farm office. I made several calls and spoke with Greg. He was extremely helpful and very caring, when my mother passed away and I had to transfer her car title into my name and get insurance on it temporarily until I could get it sold. He guided me the whole way, answered all my questions and concerns. When I. called him on 6/18/19 to let him know I sold my mom's car he said he would handle everything in the office and he was glad her car was sold even though he knew it was bittersweet for me.
He informed me if I ever needed further advice/assistance that I shouldn't hesitate to call him and he would gladly help with whatever I needed. Greg is simply the best I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Was on the phone for over an hour and a half to process a simple policy cancellation. Had already requested cancellation of policy through local agent multiple times, even providing a signed and written request. Had to be transferred multiple times to multiple different departments to process cancellation. Totally unaccommodating and convoluted for Spanish speakers.

The rep offered a reference number but then said she was unable to process the cancellation or provide a reference number. Asked for a supervisor and they transferred me back to the agent who caused all this mess in the first place! Some of the worst customer service I have ever seen and would not recommend to anyone. BEWARE! Trying to cancel a policy is a nightmare!

I'm posting this because of State Farm practices not this office. Our van was hit by a Truck last December. Left side was destroyed. Steering and frame bent. State Farm said they were going to fix it until Jan. 3rd, 2018. Then they called to say it was going to be totaled. Why? Cause whoever owns a vehicle on Jan 1 is responsible for registration fees which we had to pay on a vehicle that was undrivable since Dec5th. That also left us with two days of covered rental car to find a replacement. Stay away from State Farm.

My company sends people to Amy all the time for renter's insurance, as it's a requirement for our properties. After a long battle with Nationwide to get any relief on my auto policies, I decided to call myself, even if just for a quote. My agent was Jeff, and he was very patient with a million questions, since I'd literally never shopped for. insurance before - I joined my mom's insurance company nearly ten years ago and never thought about it again, save for that aforementioned battle. Lord, was I getting taken for a walk! Amy's State Farm agency saved me a truly substantial $900, and I got MORE coverage and LOWER deductibles.
To get personal for a moment, I can't tell you how much we needed this. Cancer entered my family this year, and while we hope it makes a swift exit, $900 will definitely help with those bills. I thought it was a bad idea to do something "stressful" like shopping for insurance while we have all that medical stuff going on, but they really made it easy, were patient with my flakiness/delayed responses, and it was such a good decision financially. Thanks again!

Do not do business with this branch, find another Statefarm agent. The whole point of dealing with a local agent is to get that personalization of not having to call a 800 number and talk to someone different every time you call, well this branch can't seem to keep employees so you talk to someone different anyway. And then the employees that they. have could care less about actually helping you including David.
They screwed up our policy twice by taking the wrong vehicle off and having two of the SAME vehicle on there and when I noticed it and called them to fix it they wouldn't take ownership of their error and it was going to cost me more money because they screwed up. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

We just found out that through a miscommunication we had been charged for our home owners insurance on a house we sold in 2015. I called the office and Darlene is getting us a refund. I had the worst service at that place, I left because of the lack of communication. They don't follow through, they cancelled my insurance the wrong date. Ken Dean is the worst, he will seat across of his desk and makes promise but he won't follow through. I sat in his office for 45 minutes talking with corporate for him to tell me he doesn't know. what they are talking about.

Ken and his people have the best customer service. Lejla has been my agent for years now and every time I walk into the office I feel like I am with family. They have not only all of my insurance including my business, but also all of my banking. I transferred to Amy from another State Farm agency. One of the first things Amy did for me after we transferred was the discount double check. Fortunately, all my discounts were correct but what I did learn was how little I was actually covered for! Amy showed me that our policy was one that met minimum coverage requirements but that by having. only the minimums we would face severe financial hardship if we had a wreck that the costs exceeded our coverage! Amy was able to provide us a policy that covers us even if we (God forbid) hit a Lamborghini for only a few more dollars out of pocket a month!

When I moved to SF 9 years ago, I left my car at home. While recently shopping for a new car, I went online to practically every auto insurance company I could google. I received tons of emails saying "here's your quote" but not one phone call.until Darlene called me. I have to admit, my first thought was "they're trying to sell me something" but when I answered the phone she was the just the sweetest thing.
She went over my quote with me and, with permission, changed a few things. She ended up saving me a ton on my car insurance AND got renters' insurance added, all while keeping my monthly premium LOWER than my original auto quote. She is very personable too. She got excited with me when I spoke of the car I wanted to buy, and shared in my disappointment when I found out the car was sold before I could get back to the dealership.
She got excited again when I found an even more perfect car for me, and told me to stop by and say hello. Karen in the office is also great! She called me at work and when I couldn't answer but was willing to "talk" to me over email and answer every one of my questions. This office has been great so far and I look forward to many more years with Darlene and her team.

She ended up saving me a ton on my car insurance AND got renters' insurance added, all while keeping my monthly premium LOWER than my original auto quote. She is very personable too. She got excited with me when I spoke of the car I wanted to buy, and shared in my disappointment when I found out the car was sold before I could get back to the dealership.
She got excited again when I found an even more perfect car for me, and told me to stop by and say hello. Karen in the office is also great! She called me at work and when I couldn't answer but was willing to "talk" to me over email and answer every one of my questions. This office has been great so far and I look forward to many more years with Darlene and her team.

I was shopping for auto insurance only but ended up buying a whole package auto insurance, homeowners and umbrella insurance. I'm currently planning to go over life insurance next month with Darlene. Darlene and her office staff sold me on their knowledge and friendliness. I didn't understand the importance of umbrella until I had an insurance and financial review with her. I've only had mediocre experiences with other insurance agents but Darlene and her staff have changed my view, as they are informative, friendly and pleasant to talk with. Darlene Chow is the absolute girl! She knows what she is doing and she knows how to guide. I called for an auto insurance quote and she ended up saving me so much she wrote my car, my house, and insured my life for less than I thought it would be.
