However, they advanced 80% in about 35 days and the remainder after the insurance retitled the ownership of the policy.

This is the second time I sold unneeded policies to Abacus. The first was two term policies on my wife that we felt we no longer needed and they were coming close to term. After spending too many hours listening to some hype from this life settlement company or another, I found Abacus Life. Most specifically, I was lucky enough to get Courtney Pezzopane as our point person in navigating what can be a long process in getting the most money for my husband's life insurance policy since we no longer had a need for it. I contacted at least 4 other companies, including one that advertises a lot and I found they were mostly sales puff and sorely lacking in communications and follow up after the initial call. Courtney was efficient and prompt in her responses to my questions and explained the process step by step.

She let us know that, contrary to some of the other companies' information, the insured really need not be at death's door to receive a significant cash benefit from selling a policy, which was the case with us. It took a while, but in the end, Courtney kept at it and we got a settlement surprisingly higher than we anticipated. I recommend Abacus Life if you want a company that is the real deal and not the bait and switch tactics some other companies employ.
