We bought universal life insurance policies 30 years ago and have dutifully paid our monthly premiums. At the time we purchased the policies we were told by the agent that the interest made on the policies would keep them from expiring and keep the premiums basically the same or minimally higher. Now that we are older and retired, Midland National Life has increased our monthly premiums over 100% on one policy and almost 400% on the second policy.

We feel like they are deliberately pricing us to the point we will drop the policies, unable to afford the premiums. We feel this is nothing short of a scam and a disgraceful assault on seniors. 30 years of premiums pocketed for nothing.

I have worked with this organization for awhile now. I am disappointed in their service and their communication. I would not suggest anyone to utilize this company. When I would call they would put me on eternal hold. Over the last 18 months I have spent hours dealing with this company from redoing paperwork, being put on hold, giving them information and being told I didn't give it to them. You are not assigned to a person so I had to repeat myself every time I called. I DO NOT recommend this company. They are very difficult to work with.

I have been a life insurance broker for over 17 years. I get to write for any carrier I wish and by far Midland National Life is second to none. From an agents perspective the marketing department always has great advice, points out things I may be forgetting and makes solid suggestions. When I call in, the first person I ask for is Janelle Peterson.

She's always very friendly, great to work with and very prompt in her response and follow ups. No offense to the others there, they all handle calls very well. But this is what's great about dealing with Midland, you get to build relationships with the employees unlike other life insurance companies. As a consumer, Midland's life policy can't be touched. All around Midland is my go to first and foremost.

I have worked with the folks at Sammons Financial Group and Midland National Life as a client for the past two years. They are terrific to work with and help solve problems for our teams collectively. I'd recommend the team at SFG and Midland National Life to anyone in Chicago, West Des Moines or Sioux Falls. They were recently named - once again - to the Ward's Top 50 List.

Midland National is an excellent company that really cares about their clients as well as employees. Having worked with them for several years, I have no encountered a single problem. Their customer service skills are impeccable and adept. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I called to understand Midland's Life Insurance Index product and their Marketing Specialist Mr. Jordan gave me over an hour to make me understand different options like distribution, loans. Currently on hold with Midland going on 45 minutes. Sad to say this isn't even the first time this has been the case with this company. Without a doubt this is the worst insurance company I've ever had to deal with as an agent. Safe to say I will never be doing business with the company again and I strongly recommend anyone reading this to do the same.

From claim work/processing to just trying to get assistance from a representative to help service a policy has always been a nightmare. Of all insurance companies, Midland truly exemplifies how NOT to do business or treat clients.

Tried to get a ownership change. In 8 months this has not happened. Kristie Hill - the Annuity Service Manager refuses to call you back and want you to talk to a representative. These rep's have no idea what they are doing. I have filled out at least 10 sheets of paper with signature and SS#. and it goes into a black hole. The rep also told me that there is no money in my account, which is incorrect. I have had to contact the state of Iowa Insurance Division to file a claim and file a claim against Midland National Insurance Company.
