Services
Group plans are available to companies of 1 or more employees (as defined by WA state regulation). They often provide better benefits and more plan options than those purchased on the individual market. Some trust plans also look at broad health questions (see the Risk Questionnaire in the Forms section) to determine rates.
Many health insurance companies offer plans to WA state residents. These plans may work well for those who are self-employed, work part-time or work for a business that does not offer health insurance. They can also be an alternative to COBRA or expensive spouse/child rates offered through an employer.
Group plans are available only to businesses. Some plans will cover groups of one to four employees, but groups of five or more will have additional plan options. Many group plans offer richer benefits than individual plans; however, they can also be more expensive. The rates are determined by a variety of factors including the average age + home zip codes of your employees.
