Named after its founder Raymond K. Tongue, Baltimore-based R. K. Tongue Co., Inc. has been continuously in operation as an independent insurance agency since 1911. Today, the agency remains independent and is privately held under the leadership of its President, Edward K. Gerner Jr., J.D., CLU, CPCU.
CLAIMS MADE policies respond to claims that occur and are reported after the policy retroactive date while the policy remains in-force. I've had professional liability insurance through them for my dental office for about 20 years. They are amazing. They have served us very well in the past 20 years. They never take their customers for granted and look at ways to serve you, as if you're a new customer every year. I especially like to work with Fitz. He's great and very responsive.

Worst customer service in my life. The people here are very rude. I was snapped at twice just for asking a few questions regarding a COI. Both Lisa & Brenda were agitated while I asked to verify a tenants insurance coverage. I was told by Lisa, " Unless someone stole and took over our company and I didn't know about it, then yes it came from us. " This was said without even looking up the policy. Brenda looked up the policy, and when she confirmed that she had sent it I said, " It was, Ok." She said, "What, do you want me to send it again!". I don't know if these ladies are overworked or just plain rude, but I will not be referring business to them anytime soon.
