My old insurance company was bought by Westgate Insurance. It seemed easiest to just keep going with them. The first time I called back in May was after leasing a new car. The person who answered the phone acted like it was a huge deal to call me back and let me know the price difference in the new policy, they were just going to charge my card. I moved from Michigan to Ohio and the agent told me my insurance was going to go up a substantial amount and was not patient with explaining why to me. In the end I've found a place with better customer service.

I have used Westgate Insurance on and off for the last 21 Years (My entire driving history). From homeowners, motorcycle, auto & camper, Todd has always taken care of us, letting me know the most cost effective options and being quick to respond to claims. I have been so happy with his service that I moved to Florida 5 years ago and he still takes care of my Auto & RV policies! I can call the team, let them know of any changes and within a few days to a week, I have the revised paperwork. I even recommended my father and in-laws to them.

We carried homeowners and automobile insurance through them for approximately 2 years. This Spring I wanted to get quotes from other insurance companies that Westgate carries. They ignored my requests for new quotes. So I had to do my own footwork to find an insurance company that was a better fit for us. I sent the cancellation request to Westgate (in writing) and I did not receive a confirmation.
I had to call back later to confirm it. I was put on hold for an extended amount of time before they could find my cancellation. Over a week later, after it was cancelled, the insurance company still withdrew the monthly payment that month (9 days after it was cancelled). We made a call to that company only to find out that they never received the cancellation from Westgate.
I called Westgate and received a bunch of deflections and it was somehow my fault for not telling them we had setup a monthly EFT payment schedule. If your customers are expected to do all the work then why do we need you in the first place? If you can't handle the very basic steps in a process-model based industry like opening, changing, and closing accounts; how can I feel secure that you could actually take care of my family in a real emergency?

Similar story to Marks. They are never helpful. Steve at Westgate always has an arrogant attitude problem when answering my questions. They set up was to duplicate the previous but this one had no uninsured motorist coverage and no rental coverage. Also my home owners insurance went up nearly $400 in one year and no one from Westgate made any attempt to find me a better rate.
I truly know that if I stay with this company I would be a huge dummy. Well thanks Westgate I'm on to find a better rate on my own since all you do is blatantly ignore serving me as a valued customer and then jack my rates up! I have never made a review before which to me implies this business is the worst I have dealt with.

Some of the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I came into Westgate Insurance about 2 weeks ago, looking to get a quote on life insurance and potentially car insurance for my youngest daughter. I walked in and was greeted by an extremely friendly secretary who told us to take a seat, and that we would be meeting with one of the agents (Steve) shortly.
After a little wait, Steve came and brought us into his office. Off the bat, I could tell that either this guy was a huge jerk, or that he was just having a bad day, because every word he uttered to us was in such a harsh and rude tone. He began to ask me questions about our situation, and anytime I was confused about what he was asking, he would proceed to act as if I was stupid.
He even at one point rolled his eyes at me and said, "youre making this way harder than what it should be." I've seriously never been treated so poorly in my entire life. Steve is the biggest jerk and rudest individual I have ever dealt with. I left after he had given me a quote and threw it in the trash. I'll gladly pay double the rate he gave me at another agent, instead of dealing with such an awful person.
