Critical: Quality, Responsiveness Got a policy quoted for renters insurance, this firm got the date wrong. I called to have them change the effective date to my move in date, instead I have a cancelled policy and now have to find other renters insurance. Due to the incompetency of this staff I will never use farmers insurance again.

Working with my agent, Kristin was a great experience. Anytime I had a question she answered promptly. She helped me find the best insurance coverage based on my individual needs. When I contacted Farmers i just planned to cover my house but after getting quotes on multiple policies I realized Farmers was the best value for my money. In the beginning of the process Ruben was helpful in acquiring insurance for a rental property. Issue began when I had to cancel the policy due to selling the property. I was able to sign the paperwork and return it back to his office. That is when I received the Declaration Page regarding the windstorm policy a week after the initial submission. I decided to double check to see if it was canceled and called the insurance company directly.

I was told that the paperwork was not submitted correctly and that my policy was still intact. They requested that I contact Rubens office to fix the issue. I called to see if it can be submitted correctly and was told that someone was going to reach out to me to confirm, that was on a Thursday, I never got a call back and thought I should reach out next Monday.

I call back to confirm I just wanted a confirmation number or anything that I know it was actually canceled this time. I was foisted off to different people in the office until I was able to get an answer that the paper work was resubmitted and therefor canceled but to paraphrase "I've done thousands of these and I couldn't have made the mistake".

I was given sharp responses as if she already responded to my other inquiries before and I was wasting her time. After that call I decided to reach out to the insurance company myself to get that confirmation and was told that they were just starting the paperwork for cancellation. I didn't really care who made the mistake. But there was a mistake, I just wanted my policy canceled for a home that I no longer own. If it wasn't for me checking I would still have it. The disconnect between Insurance Company and the Agents office fell on me and I was treated poorly for it.

I highly recommend Ruben with Farmers. I had a different insurance agency and Ruben came in $80 a month cheaper for the same coverage. I had my old company cancel my policy (which they were supposed to do a month from the day I called but ended up canceling that day due to an error). Ruben answered the phone at 3 pm personally and by 4:30 pm the same day I had full coverage and ID cards in hand. Ruben does my home and auto and I recommend his company for both!
