In 1950, our agency's namesake - Ronel J. Dubois - began his insurance career as an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Ronel eventually joined Mapes Insurance Agency on the 2nd floor of the old Springvale National Bank building (now home to Key Bank). After a few short years, Ronel bought half interest in the agency, and in 1955, purchased the entire agency from Mr. Mapes. By 1968, Ronel's son, Robert W. Dubois, joined the agency. Father and son later relocated the office to its current location in the center of Sanford at 860 Main Street.

Odd experience. Very condescending dont go there for car insurance if you are average person. Must be insurance for the elite. Was told everyone in household would need background check for dui etc. This person was not welcoming AT ALL. Seriously don't waste your time unless you want to be annoyed or guilty until proven innocent.
