In a high risk area, a home has a 25% chance of being damaged by flood during the course of a 30-year mortgage, compared to a 9% chance of fire. Roughly 25% of all claims paid by the NFIP are for policies in low to moderate risk communities (Flood Zones B, C and X). In some cases, it takes 30 days after purchase for a policy to take effect, so it's important to buy insurance before the floodwaters start to rise.
Flood insurance protects two types of insurable property: building and contents. The first covers your building, the latter covers your possessions; neither covers the land they occupy. Damage caused by moisture, mildew, or mold that could have been avoided by the property owner. Property and belongings outside of an insured building such as trees, plants, wells, septic systems, walks, decks, patios, fences, seawalls, hot tubs, and swimming pools. Most self-propelled vehicles such as cars, including their parts (see Section IV.5 in your policy).
Generally a home is the most important asset that a family has. If a flood should occur you want the flood loss settled efficiently and in a timely manner. This is our goal also. It's important to insure your home AND its contents. Depending on your property location, your home is either considered at high risk, moderate risk or low risk for a flood.
As a condominium unit owner, it is a good idea to purchase both building AND contents coverage. If you are the owner of a unit and have insured personal property under Coverage B (Personal Property), this will also cover your interior walls, floor and ceiling (not otherwise covered under a flood insurance policy purchased by your condominium association) for not more than 10 percent of the limit of liability shown for personal property on the Declarations Page.or you can purchase additional buildingcoverage to take care of the interior walls, floor, ceiling, and improvements and betterments to the building as well as the personal property (contents) coverage.

Thank you so much! I had a client needing flood insurance in order to close on her new home - NFIP offered $5999 while Flood Insurance Services was able to get me a rate with Flood Services Inc for $999! My client had better coverage and was able to keep her mortgage payments down. Not to mention how easy they made it for me! Thank you!
