If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst insurance company ever. Had no issues or claims FOR YEARS. Had one minor issue with a dog and they refused to cover it because of the breed which is illegal in PA. Least helpful people. I would never recommend them and never use them for anything again.

So I was helping a friend out with something at their cabin, and noticed that he was getting his driveway re-graded with a skid loader. I parked off to the side of the driveway and went in to get the information I needed to order parts. By the time I did that, their insured notified me that they hit my car with the skid loader. Completely not my fault, the insured claimed fault, opened a claim. Awesome, this shouldn't take long.

Their fault, should get a rental while my car is fixed. (Skid loader popped my tire that is only 2 months old, put a donut on to get home and deal with it.) Call insurance the next day and start the process I borrow my wife's car, can only do that so many times. Again my car is on a donut. Went about 30 miles home on a donut and don't want to drive it in winter conditions.

I know shocker right? Anyway I ask for a rental. They're adjuster needs to look at it. Okay. when will they be out? Dear reader if you think it would be quick. I'm at a week. I had to call my insurance to get a rental. This company told me to drive on a donut in winter with a newborn in back. Screw this company. I've done more leg work trying to get my stuff fixed. They told me to do it and they'll cut a check after their adjuster came out. still waiting. Be scared if you ever have to deal with them.

I had a claim against a plumber insured by Mutual Benefit, and it was a painful process to get reimbursed for damages. Almost all line items on their proposed reimbursement needed review. They asked for receipts and then made up their own estimates of what they would cover. They omitted entire receipts. They delay, delay, delayed. I had to chase weekly and repeatedly request the agent to be respectful.

He was condescending and unprofessional. My estimation is that they play a hard nose game of cutting the smallest check possible and delaying payment. It was a part time job to manage for 3 months, and there is no reimbursement for your time. Next time I will hire an adjuster. Honestly a hateful experience that makes me hate insurance. It's all a game the consumer is designed to lose.

One word: terrible. Dropped all of our policies with them after being a customer for years. Opened a claim after an accident which we never had to do before. Customer service was non-existent, my adjuster said she was "too busy with the 5 other people on the line so just email me". mishandled and underestimated the extent of damage to my car, so they ended up paying more than what it was worth to fix. I will never recommend this company to anyone, and I actually had to go to the Pennsylvania Attorney General regarding MBG.

One of their insured drove through a red light and totaled my car. They wouldn't increase the payout for my car to cover my loan or pay more than $10 to $50 dollars total for my new tires I just spent over $600 on. Then lied to the judge when I took the insured to small claims court. If you cause accidents, by all means, go with this company but good luck if you're hit by their insured.

I paid for a whole year upfront. Never filed a claim of course no accidents. After the year was over i tried to renew and they put me back on a monthly. So I paid that month and the next month no bill was sent. I called the agent and they said I've been dropped and that several bills have been mailed to me months ago which they have not! Today I finally received those bills and I took a pic of the post mark date and sent to my agent to prove I wasn't lying. Terrible company. Because of the lapse in coverage because of them I have to pay almost double now with another company. Very very bad disorganized company!

I been a mutual benefits policyholder policyholder for the past 8 years I recently had a comprehensive loss under my auto coverage and the adjuster who I dealt with offered some strange advice. The auto shop inspected the vehicle and gave an estimate. They advised Adjuster that the car was not drivable. The shop informed the adjuster that due to the damage the car would not be safe to drive. Adjuster then inform the shop that they should tape the car up where the damage occurred so it would be drivable and I would not need a rental car.

In spite of me paying for rental reimbursement under my coverage. They finally agreed to a rental car but never sent the check and when I was unable to pick up the car I was informed that the check was in the mail and I should pay for the car myself since the rental would be canceled that day. I am retired and have been in the claims business for 45 years 20 of which was a claims manager and I'm well aware how a claim department should operate. I plan to contact my agent and cancel my coverage with mutual benefits. I would suggest a more thorough training program in customer service for your adjusters.

Reading the bad reviews made me want to comment. I have been dealing with and have Mutual Benefit Insurance for a long time. Their coverage's and pricing are excellent. If I have ever needed customer service, I call my agent. If I end up calling the actual company if my agent is not available I have never had a problem, they are always very courteous.

Being in the customer service business myself, I can bet that the customer wasn't getting what they wanted and began to get rude first. Plus, you cannot expect the insurance company to give you more for your vehicle if it is not valued at a higher amount. That is the way insurance works. I would recommend Mutual Benefit Insurance to anyone I know!

These people are EVIL. They canceled my insurance after 8 years because I paid my bill 3 business days late. No warning. Not even the courtesy of a damn phone call from my agent. They just canceled it and now I have to pay $1500 more per year. Now they are trying to bill me for three weeks of insurance after the cancellation that I never agreed to! I have filed a complaint with the state insurance commission, but I doubt it will do any good. Do NOT buy insurance from these evil people!

Horrible company who does not care about people. just their bottom line. They will misuse your funds on your policy and never communicate. When you need them they will disappear without a trace.they will not care at all.

We've had them for home and auto for over 10yrs. Never had an auto claim but have had 3 homeowners claims. All three claims were handled beautifully and in two of the cases neighbors were also dealing with same issues from the storms and hands down I was the only person not complaining about their insurance. I was shocked at how great it was from such a small company.and my rates did not go up as result!
