The agency has been working in group and individual health insurance since 1987. We have three licensed health insurance brokers: Cheryle (Calhoun) Bailey, Eric Barton, and Henry Shumake. Cheryle Bailey started the agency in 1987. Eric Barton joined the agency in 1989. Henry Shumake joined the agency in 1990.
If a client chooses to purchase a product from the broker, the broker then makes a commission set by the providing company with no additional fees charged to the client by the broker. Barton Insurance Service also offers access to personal insurance policies that cover auto and home which are available at the providing company's commission rates and no additional fees charged to the client by the broker.

Eric worked as an agency producer and customer service representative untill June of 1997. In 1997, he contracted with Farmers Insurance Group. He achieved production awards from 1998-2001. He maintained profitable agency growth awarded by contract value bonuses at 3% per year to the maximum of 18%.
