During World War II Grace ran the agency while Bob was away in the service.After the war the agency grew and the Lockhart's began the agencies strong involvement in community service and youth sports. The Lockhart's eventually sold the business to Bernard & Harriet Mick who then brought in Roger Johnson, Harriet's brother, a few years later.

Established in 1939 by Robert Lockhart, we have grown to a full service insurance agency specializing in the needs of a growing resort community. Currently Frankfort Insurance serves the needs of 1,300 individuals and families, and 150 business concerns in Benzie County and adjacent areas. A personal protection program designed specifically for you with the company or companies best suited to your situation.
Our office may not be open 24 hours a day but we understand how important it is for customers to request policy changes, report claims, and request other assistance from us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Please keep in mind that all policy change requests are not considered legally bound until after you have received a confirmation from our agency or your insurance carrier directly.
We know your time is valuable. For that reason we recommend making an appointment when you'd like to meet with us in person. When you schedule an appointment ahead of time, we can have all necessary information prepared to address your request as efficiently as possible. Our office hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm EST, Monday through Friday.
The person(s) to sign the document must be present, provide valid State or Federal identification and only sign the document in the presence of the notary. Notarization appointments occur at 525 Main Street, Frankfort MI during regular business hours. Please select the location of the notarization- Frankfort Insurance office or at another location.

In this "Era of COVID" so many people are using the epidemic as an excuse for their not being able to provide "typical service". That has certainly NOT been the case with Andrew Johnson and Frankfort Insurance Agency. FIA has gone beyond expectations, even those that might have been applied to "good times". I cannot say enough for the efforts they have put forward, not to mention finding us improved coverage and better prices than I would have expected. Thank you, Andrew for treating me like family; you have made us feel right at home.
