Open Enrollment for coverage in the 2022 Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Insurance has ended. However you may still qualify for Special Enrollment. The Individual Health Insurance options available to you are very different as compared to Group (offered thru an employer) Health Insurance. One very significant change is that you can no longer buy health insurance coverage any time you want to. You are required to purchase coverage during the Open Enrollment Period or you must qualify for a Special Enrollment waiver.
There are several different types of individual, family, or group dental insurance plans grouped into three primary categories: Indemnity (or sometimes called: true dental insurance) which allows you to see any dentist you want who accepts insurance, Preferred Provider Network dental plans (PPO; briefly discussed below), and dental Health Managed Organizations (DHMO) in which you are assigned to an in-network dentist or in-network dental office and must stay within that network to receive your dental benefits.
Medicare Advantage Plans (also known as Medicare Part C) are health plan options that are part of the Medicare program. If you join one of these plans, you generally get all your Medicare-covered health care through that plan. This coverage can include Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage or you can enroll in a separate Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage plan.
