Ostrander Insurance Agency was founded in 1979 by Dick Ostrander when he began operations in a downtown office in Franklin, MA. Dick's father had encouraged him to start his own business, which he did shortly after graduating from Holy Cross College. Several years after opening the Franklin location, a second office was opened in nearby Bellingham, MA in 1984. The Bellingham office building where the business is currently located was purchased in 1989.

Dick grew up in Franklin, MA, graduating from Franklin High School in 1975. His insurance career began when he founded Ostrander Insurance in a downtown office in Franklin center just a few months after graduating from Holy Cross College in 1979. He is a licensed Insurance Broker in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and also serves as a notary public in Massachusetts.
In addition to meeting the needs of your auto, homeowners and business insurance, we also provide other services as well. You can get FREE insurance quotes, reviews of your current insurance, as well an insurance replacement cost analysis of your home. Even though auto insurance is mandatory in MA, you still have options when selecting your own coverage.
The standard MA auto insurance policy includes twelve parts. At the least, everyone must carry this most basic coverage, which is often referred to as basic or compulsory coverage. This coverage pays others in the event you cause injury or property damage to them. This basic and least expensive car insurance option does not include coverage to fix or repair your car under any circumstances. This basic coverage might be a reasonable choice for someone of limited, financial means who is driving an older car of little value.
Our agents will help you determine what types of insurance are best for you. For instance, a trade contractor may only want to purchase general liability coverage to make sure he is protected for his clients, but if he has employees, he is also obligated by Massachusetts state law to carry workers compensation coverage.

We worked with Paul to obtain auto and homeowner's insurance. Paul was able to send us an estimate for auto insurance the same morning we requested it and he even worked with the dealer to make sure they had everything they needed to register the car in Massachusetts. I reached out to this agency looking for bundled homeowners and auto quotes.before they could even take my name they interrupted me to say they weren't interested in writing any new policies at the time which made me wonder how do they stay in business or retain clients? My husband reviewed their many "positive" reviews and seems to believe the people who insure with them are close friends within their "personal clique" and couldn't care any less about others outside of it! Shameful business practice and will look elsewhere

Responsive and thorough. Paul takes the time to understand your needs and the associated urgency and provides options accordingly. He does a great job simplifying those options to make sure you understand why one may be right for you. We ended up with coverage that was both better and cheaper than our previous provider.
