Horrible. Awful. DO NOT GO HERE. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! I understand when you use the services of an insurance broker there are going to be fees involved. However, those fees are usually disclosed at the time of the services rendered. NOT weeks later and NOT after the customer has to make several phone calls to find out and still be left with questions afterward.
Agency fees are usually a standard fee. Not here. You pay whatever they feel like telling you to pay, without any explanation for it and NO disclosure of said fees AND without the option of refusing those fees. I paid $166 dollars and believed that was for the down payment on my insurance policy. Only to have $41.83 ACTUALLY paid to the insurance company.
My receipt reflects a $166 down payment and a $0.00 agency fee. I called the agent Abigail and with a horrible attitude she told me that's "pretty much" the agency fee. If I had a problem with it I could call her supervisor Esmeralda who is another piece of work. With an even bigger attitude she attempted to dismiss my issue by explaining that "Any agency you go to has a fee." She refused all reasoning and offered another receipt as a resolution.
She claimed she did not know the details of my policy or the fee amount that I paid and said she would need to speak to Abigail to verify the amount I paid. How do they not know what their own fee is? She then told me after finding out what exactly the fee *I* paid was, If I still had an issue I could then speak to HER supervisor. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me she could not give me the supervisors information.
I could not, and can not speak to her supervisor until she spoke to Abigail to verify the amount I paid in fees. Ridiculous. There is absolutely NO WAY I would have accepted and paid such an exorbitant amount had it been disclosed at the time. Which, I'm sure, is why they didn't/don't disclose it. No one would pay that knowingly and be ok with it. Furthermore, my receipt should reflect the amounts I paid for the services I received.
If it shows I paid $166 towards the down payment of my policy, and $0.00 to the agency.that's where my money should be applied. I will never ever deal with these people again. I will make my policy payments directly to my insurance provider and I highly recommend avoiding Speedy Insurance at ALL COST.
