Run for the hills and don't take the low price bait. Save yourself from heartache and trauma. Try to buy a small puppy or fix a leaky roof yourself (because they won't cover it) take the lousy $600 to fix the drywall.then get cancelled OUT OF THE BLUE. Not a nice company.always looking out for No. 1. You try to work with them and help them get through a claim and all they do is hold it against you. Poor, sad little company.

If you get any mail regarding switching to this insurance company burn it. This company is hands down the worst insurance company in Arizona. They will find every single reason to deny a claim no matter what they have to do. And you'll have to end up hiring public adjusters so they can get your claims covered on the ones that get denied. Glad to see other bad reviews. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. Cancelled my policy without telling me! They say they emailed me a form to state what breed of dog I have and never got it back. In fact, I never received the email. I did check my records and realized they mailed me a form, that I DID SEND BACK. I only figured out they cancelled me when I heard from my mortgage company. Now, they refuse to reinstate my policy.
Their reason now is they claim they did a "google" and found out I don't live there. They say I'm renting it out. Well, I guess I'm homeless then, because I DO LIVE THERE. When I said, "Why didn't you call me to tell me you were canceling my policy?" The agent stated, "Oh, we have too many insured customers to call everyone." Well now you have 1 less to worry about! And hopefully this review will give you even fewer.

I only called this place for a quote and now they will not stop harassing me or my mortgage company trying to get payment for a policy that I do not want. I told them over phone 3 times, I do not want a policy, I faxed written notification stating I do not want a policy nor did I request a policy. They keep contacting my mortgage company requesting payment for policy I do not want or have. I filed complaint with BBB today, next is Arizona Attorney General and hopefully they stop harassing me.

I received a quote in the mail, I called to compare my current rate to something comparable because the quote that I was given was considerably lower coverage than I currently have with a higher annual premium. I waited 20:00 min on the phone to speak to someone. I continued to hear, " Your call is important to us. Please stay on the line for the next available agent." No one answered. Don't bother dealing with this company.

Had a roof leak after a storm, submitted a claim a week later. Guy who came out wasn't exactly the nicest person in the world, but professional. They deemed it "long term damage" even though we never saw evidence of the leak prior (it was behind built in cabinets, only during a recent storm did we see water damage) and denied the claim. Also mentioned our roof was "weird" and apparently wasn't designed to standards (we bought the house from previous owner, whom never mentioned this). Fine, frustrating (since apparently we should be climbing on the roof and looking for leaks?), but we didn't have a choice.
We fixed the leak within 2-3 weeks (contractor was booked due to recent storm) out of our own pocket. Submitted evidence. They apparently never received, and cancelled our policy. Went and asked since we had it fixed, and sent evidence if we could get reinstated, they denied it. Went to another insurance company and saved $150 a year. Don't go with these jokers. On a positive note, the customer service lady was extremely nice and understanding, just couldn't do anything due to the underwriters.

5 Stars up until a year and a half ago. I have been with this company since 2008 and never had a claim, not even a conversation about one. Last year I received a letter my rates were increasing, not happy about it but ok. Now this year, guess what I get, ,,y ou guessed it another letter advising my rates were increasing again. This time however my rates were increasing due to a "random" inspection where they found a simple swing set, no rock wall, no swinging ropes, a simple swing set in my back yard.
When I got the policy I was asked if I had a trampoline or a pool because those were risks. I was never told a swing set would increase my rates. This is a extremely shady back door way to raise rates. Whats next, they find out my daughter rides her bike in the driveway. Seems to me that if there are restrictions or things that increase your rates, the customer should be told, ie. the trampoline or pool.
If you are looking into this company, make sure you ask questions and get it in writing so you don't get the "random" inspection rate increase like me. I contacted the contact on the letter who was zero help. I hope this helps.

Almost a 5* I've had AHIC for a few years now the one interaction I had with them was very positive staff A++ in my book. They were friendly and courteous and handled everything way faster then I expected with pretty much no effort on my part so in other words no complaints as far as the way I have been treated. The only reason they got a 4* was because for the past two years my policy has gone up little by little and unfortunately there no longer the most competitive.
I really hate to have to leave because I truly did love there service but the savings were worth the risk I will definitely be giving them a chance again next year to try and be more competitive if they are I will come right back. Sorry AHIC I'll miss you.
