I would sincerely like to give a zero to this company. Btw, condensed for time and space. I made a claim due to my back giving out back in October 2021. I waited and waited and then decided to call the person on the letter they sent saying they were reviewing my claim. I will call him R as I don't want to hold him accountable or reveal anyones name. However, after calling about once a week he finally told me 2months later that he was simply doing the math since my shift differentials took extra work.
Now it's 2/3 of my checks, so really? Ok. Whatever. He said I would get my payment early the next week. I received nothing. So another call. All while in pain with the bills piling up and being unable to work. I had paid for this insurance for over a year as well. So the next time I call R is no longer taking care of my case. Now A is and she needs to get more information from my company. Really?
We were on the verge of me getting a pay and now you need more information? I ask for a supervisor and blah blah blah, I end up saying I will be calling again. Before you know it they are denying my case due to my leave of absence the month before my disability. I let our CEO know the situation and he is a good person. Just the fact I can talk to the CEO is amazing. Anyway, I now have my company letting them know that I was on leave which means I am eligible for benefits.
It is now December. Now it's January and I get a letter saying that LifeMap is reopening my case. In March I still haven't heard anything so I contact LifeMap and am told after 2 healthcare professionals told them I was temporarily disabled they now need an independent doctor to look at my case. I let them know that I would be letting everyone including my CEO know that this has happened.
I understand insurance companies don't want to pay, but when you have a proven disability they should! That's what they are there for! Protection if this happens and someone cannot work! So this is the first of many reviews. Do not use this company! If you are an employee do not give them your hard earned money. If you are a company consider someone with good reviews. LifeMap does not care.

My employer had a supplement disabilty insurance with them. I was getting paid buy them but every year they made me reevaluate and made it harder to continue getting benifits. They will try and find ever way they can, not to pay you benefits. Even stalking you, lurking and waiting for you to do something they feel they can use against you. I can just imagine buying my own insurance with them.
