Hill & Usher has been my business insurance policy agency for the past 3 years. When I first called them I was VERY impressed with their pricing and their service and their follow-up. It was all very good. But this past year I am as DISAPPOINTED as I was impressed before. My Hartford policy came due in December and the premium jumped by 43%. I was shocked and called for any explanation - I wasn't given any, they simply told me to pay it or my policy would be cancelled.

I allowed it to be cancelled so I could look elsewhere but then they decided to contact me and offer a MUCH BETTER rate - much lower than my original policy! But they didn't have my assets correct so I asked to speak to a sales agent. They gave me 'Vanessa's' number and I left a message for her. Three days later I had not heard from her so I called their "Main number" again and asked for any sales rep.

This was at 1 pm (their time) and I was told that no one was available and I needed to leave my number for a call back. Instead I asked for a supervisor - but (no surprise) there were none available. I then found out that even though I called their main number, I was reaching an outside call center that has nothing to do with Hill & Usher. Apparently they don't answer their own phones anymore.

All they do now is RAISE PREMIUMS, CANCEL POLICIES and IGNORE CUSTOMER CALLS. I cannot believe how far this company has fallen in the past three years. Warning! I suggest you find another insurance company to do business with. Hill & Usher no longer cares about good service, which is a shame. UPDATE: Obviously my review got their attention and they became very anxious to assist me.

They wanted me to continue with The Hartford, the company that was happily raising my premiums each year - but I declined. I agreed to stay with Hill & Usher only if they put me into a new insurance provider - which they did. And they apologized for the mistakes The Hartford had made in handling my insurance. They told me that I would hear from top management, but I never did. Hopefully my new business insurance policy is better than the one with The Hartford was.

I would definitely recommend Package Choice by Hill & Usher to any photographers looking for business insurance. I just worked directly with Lorilai on clearing up an issue I was having between my rental house and the Hartford. Lorilai was able to straighten it out within 24 hours, and even contacted both The Hartford and the rental house herself to make sure we were all on the same page. I felt very taken care of! Slow, inefficient, unprofessional and terrible service and a phone system that has a 75% of disconnecting you after you've been on hold for 10 minutes. Not a cheap insurance company, but the service is terrible and a really bad company for anyone running a professional photography service. Need a COI lickety split? Forget about it. Need one corrected that they've sent? Forget about it. Soooooooooo slooooowwwwwwww.

Gerald at Hill and Usher went above and beyond helping me with a really tight timeline. He worked past closing hours to be sure I got a Certificate of Insurance on time for a photo shoot the next day. I can't be more grateful for his added care and professionalism.

Absolutely AMAZING! I cannot recommend Hill & Usher Insurance enough! We have been using them for a few years now. They have always been very responsive and their customer services is out of this world! We had some issues and they were able to help us resolve all our problems in a crunch! Seriously, look no further! they have great value and outstanding customer service! In our industry (photography) we value that the most!

My husband and I own a photography business and have used Package Choice Photography Hill & Usher insurance for a few years. We've had nothing but positive interactions with customer service representatives. They seem very knowledgeable about what coverage you may need depending on what kind of photography you specialize in and they offer competitive rates. As a bonus, they send fun freebies like t-shirts every so often and keep lines of communication open, making you feel like you're valued as a customer.

EMAIL LOOPS, OVERCHARGING, and COLLECTIONS. Customer for 1 year and LEAVING. When my policy was set to renew after my first year ended, rather than automatically charging me (which is fine), it said I needed to login to access my bill. Now, how Hill & Usher works is apparently as an "AGENT." The actual insurance provider is "The Hartford." In order to pay my bill, I needed to login to my account with The Hartford, which for some odd reason had completely changed my password/login information without my consent or knowledge.

So began the endless loop of BOUNCED EMAILS trying to recover my password! I was unable to login! I reached out to both Hill & Usher and The Hartford several times with no help. I assumed that my policy would just cancel without my payment, so imagine my surprise when I received an email saying I was being sent to COLLECTIONS for my unpaid balance.

Plus late fees. Not to mention, I was being charged for sections of my policy I had asked to have removed and was told I would not be charged for. This is not the way to do business and certainly not what I would expect for $800/year. Never returning.

Hill and Usher has been really helpful in getting me the best price and the best insurance companies to manage my wedding photography business insurance. I heard about them in 2016 when I had just moved to the States. They were known as being the best for photography businesses as this is what they specialize in. They will hook you up with the best policy and are very responsive to any questions or concerns you may have at any point.

The price for my first premium I had was around $550 which was extremely competitive. It then raised to around $650 as my business and liability needs grew. The price is much, much lower than what I was quoted when I decided to shop around a few other insurance providers. One of the huge pluses of Hill and Usher package choice is their Package Choice which offers customized coverage just for photography businesses. Errors and Omissions liability is a huge part of this, that isn't offered by other more generalized biz coverage.

I opted to bump mine to $500,000 in the event of a lawsuit, and this gives me huge peace of mind while barely affecting the premium. Photography is a very strange business especially when you are dealing with weddings and all the emotion and craziness that goes along with them. Knowing and understanding what I'm covered for is key in giving me peace that I can do what I love without worrying!

Hill & Usher Insurance Company is a wonderful company to work with. I have put my trust and confidence in there company now for the past few years and have come to learn that they do dont disappoint! I have had other companies service my account but have found myself turning over account after account cause I have a level of trust and confidence with them that I cant seem to get with anyone else. They are up to date and speed on everything current and treat us with a great amount of respect. I would highly recommend Hill & Usher for ALL your insurance needs!

I just activated my policy and am very happy with my decision to go with Hill and Usher. I'm a wedding photographer and I chose them based on the recommendations from a ton of other photographers (I looked into other companies as well before going with H&U). They are very prompt with their responses and the customer service is great. Adam helped me when I called to put my policy into affect and he was able to answer all of my questions and made me feel even more confident in my insurance choice.

My first experience with Hill & Usher was fantastic, thanks to Adam Eisenberg. I reached out to 4 different insurance companies and Adam was the first to reply. I had many questions because my job had particular circumstances that were not the normal when concerning insurance. Adam answered all my questions with understanding and he was always willing to help.

He found me the appropriate plan and also made sure that I was covered for multiple different problems that could arise. The rates were very fair and I would recommend this company and Adam to others. Better yet, it was nice to know that he was knowledgeable about photography and understood my needs. Furthermore, I needed coverage ASAP and Adam with Hill & Usher made it happen. Thanks again.

Called for a quote for my small business. Had to constantly follow up. Representative would not return calls not respond to emails extremely unprofessional. Would hate to see what would happen if I ever needed support. Definitely will not be hiring this company for my insurance needs

We used Hill & Usher for our business for several years with mediocre results, but were too busy to change companies. Some of our complaints are; on three separate occasions we needed to file claims, only to be told that the coverage that we requested (several times) was not added. YES costly mistakes! We started a new company and needed insurance once again and old habits die hard so we called Hill & Usher to hook us up.

After 3 days of getting the run around for liability and vehicle insurance from GUY their rep. we got insurance elsewhere the same day! AND at half the cost it was costing us from Hill & Usher the last time we used them! SAVE YOUR MONEY. YOUR TIME. AND YOUR MONEY! Stay clear of these fools. Oh we still have not back heard from GUY. it's been two weeks!

They send out lots of emai asking for the opportunity to give a competitive quote. When I called to request said quote the agent told me to go online and fill out the form. Uh. I will happily send you the current insurance with all of the coverages and amounts, NO she said you must fill out he online form, the address and building type etc. Me: well I have all of that info in my current document can I send that to you? No, you have to go online to fill out our form. UH. not what I would call service oriented.

No thanks Advice. Spend a little less on promoting yourself to photographers and use the cash to service them. I do not want to spend an hour looking up values and filling out forms, I would hope your agents could take care of that.

Do not waste your time. This company does not show any sense of urgency and I cannot recommend them. I have used them previously for a year with my own company and it has been a hassle trying to get them to do anything. I have sent them numerous emails asking to update my address which they never did. Sent a quote a week ago for a new policy for a joint venture. Made it clear to Todd of Hill and Usher that we have a wedding on the weekend and on Monday he assured that we would get a quote and have a liability certificate sent out to the venue ASAP. 4 days later, still no quote after ZERO responses to our emails or follow-ups on their part.

I called up another company after this whole fiasco and was given an estimated quote and email confirmation while I was still on the phone discussing with them ALL IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES. Again, save yourselves the time and stress and look elsewhere. Avoid this company like the plague.

I had requested a business insurance policy. They quoted me $500 for the premium and I submitted a list of scheduled items to be covered. Photography equipment. I have received the policy from CNA (the insurance company) but the copy of the schedule list wasn't included. Hill and Usher said: "there was a glitch in the system and anyway, it is not necessary to have it".

I demanded to have it and a month later when I still didn't get it I said that I would cancel the policy. The next day I received the schedule - An item had been added - coverage for rented and borrowed equipment, which I have never asked for. That added about $50 to my premium. Someone simply edited the document and forwarded it to CNA. They didn't provide a good reason and said that "maybe it was added by mistake.

My original document was a PDF. Somebody must have really bothered to add that line. So after that the "mistake" was corrected and the premium went down to $516. Why not back to the original premium? I don't know. I never received a proper explanation from them but only that "premium prices may change without a notice". In general - They don't always respond to emails and many times they refer me to the insurance company directly. So why do I even need them as an agent?

Brokers are supposed to work for the paying customer not screw them over. Called this company when I was told they had great customer service and they really help the customers out. I called to set up business coverage with them, said I was new to AZ and opened a retail location and I need to get all the coverage needed to get my store covered. They had no problems taking my money but when it came time to file a claim due to a break in they said The only covered they gave me was the bare bones liability covereage, When comparing prices informed them what was needed, and there prices they were comparing with was a full coverage deal, Liability, theft damage and all with inventory.

All the ovner can say is that" you didnt read the policy before I signed it". I informed him that when I discuss a policy with a broker and he is matching other policys with same terms, and we agree apon issues, that what I thought I was signing, not some Bait and switch, Over priced Brokers and they didnt give a rats ass, And I have mutiple policys with this company, Will be cancelling all policys in the morning and calling my attorney for BAD Faith.
