National Indemnity Company is the lead member of the National Indemnity group of insurance companies. The story begins in 1940 with two entrepreneurial brothers and a two room office in Omaha, Nebraska. Arthur and Jack Ringwalt founded National Indemnity Company as a specialty insurance firm, a four employee operation (including President Jack Ringwalt) that wrote liability insurance on taxis.
Our payroll and our scope of service has blossomed since then, but we still adhere to the Ringwalts' founding principles: that there is a proper rate for every legitimate risk and that such "risky" classes as long-haul trucks, taxis, rental cars, and public buses should not be arbitrarily rejected.

I missed a call from this company. I called back, and thought wait-let's make sure I dialed the correct number. When I called the second time a guy that sounded like a teenager answered and only said his name. I inquired as to what company he was with and he said Berkshire Hathaway. When I told him it shows as Nat'l Indemnity, he said "oh, that's our sister company." I then explained since I do not do business with either, then why was I contacted or is this a spoof called? He sat silent so I ended the call. They cannot practice basic customer service or sound the slightest bit professional.

I have a claim with this co. they have not talked or written my insurance co.they use from the accident report from the police that I had to pay for that its their insurance person is the one that made the wreck happen. So I have to use my own insurance co to fix my car and pay my deductible that I do not have the money for.

I tried to reason with these people, I tried to explain what was going on and they offered me approximately 50% of damage value and they wanted to salvage my vehicle! I even talked to VP about my case, I'm not sure what kind of business they run in here but it's not insurance. I've sent them market value ads, I have sent them all my receipts and after the first offer they sent me letter stating that they will not pay for damages. Dishonest and not business worthy, especially knowing that vp was aware of the situation.
Why buy a policy from them if they are not willing to pay? 10 months now they are holding me without paying the damage. Stay away these people look only for their own interest.

Great insurance company for distressed risks. National Indemnity Company will put a price to almost anything. Additionally, the cafeteria has really improved their food quality. Pizza went from barely edible to Pizza Hut level quality in the past 5 years. Warning: Cafeteria soup is very hot and could be a burning hazard.

I've used multiple insurance companies in my life and national indemnity is by far the worst. Good luck trying to get anyone on the phone that even has the slightest idea of what's going on. It took them 6 hours of me calling back for them to email me a document. Now It's going on two days of waiting for a certificate of insurance after I already paid. I wish I could give 0 stars. I can't wait to leave geico and national indemnity.

They have a Monopoly for insurance on passenger Carrie! The government should step in to end this, but they probably pay them so keep things going! If you decide to open 2 separate businesses in passenger buses. They will keep both policy is the same, they say it's to save their butt, in the end it's for more money the my can take from you. I had to waste a whole week waiting on the underwriter to add my insurance to website so I can get plates. It takes 2 mins but they take their sweet time. Professional- horrible Flexible- nope Knowledge staff- hell no

Worst company to write insurance with. I HOPE OTHER AGENTS READ THIS! On Feb 27 they reinstated a policy for client and today 03/27 they still haven't reinstated the filling with the state. I called them every other day and they just keep giving the run around with no updated info. I have talked to other agents in the area and they are telling me they have had the same experience and no longer write thru them. Wish I had known earlier, now the client has to decide to wait and lose more time or change companies and pay another huge down payment.
