If I could put a ZERO Star I would! The WORST customer service ever! I called a month ago to get help and was told someone would call me back. I never hear from anyone and I get a letter in the mail yesterday telling me my policy is canceled? I call back again and get someone out of the country that is not able to help me telling me someone will call me back!? Needing to get this resolved NOW, I call back again and put in different options in the auto system so I can actually get help and I speak w/someone who gives me a runaround and tells me someone will call me back!?!?!? Very unprofessional and sad seeing that CSE is Civil Service Employees group! But then again, it's a great example of why the U.S. is getting worst and worst!

CSE is an outstanding insurance company. They did a great job with a claim on my condo and I highly recommend them! Stevie Johnson is excellent providing great service and followed up, and really cared about my claim. I will continue to use them and am looking into other insurance coverage with them.

On Friday April 8th 2022 at aprox 10 am as I was exiting the Alabama exit (eastbound) in Redlands, Ca, I turned left. The vehicle behind me sped up and rear swiped me. After verbally accepting fault and apologizing on video I called SCE insurance company to file a claim. After speaking to customer service, the rep called me back and asked me for the other drivers insurance info (big red flag). Monday comes around and I call back to find out the the claim was not even submitted.
I refiled the claim and finally Tuesday a rep by the name of Steven Bais called me to take my statement. After I gave him all the information he said that typically I would hear back within 24 hours. I waited and no calls, I called back Thurs, Friday, and nothing. (I also emailed). Finally on Monday Morning the 18th, 10 days later after being rear ended by their insured, Steven my call just to tell me that they don't accept claim and that they won't be fixing my car.
I have missed 6 days of work and I don't have a car. This is a clear case of their insured rear ending me https://youtu.be/3tAy2ioZstg (video) yet Steven has denied my claim. Also, I did not have neck pain at the moment but I do as time went by so I need to seek medical treatment.

For two years in a row, no communication regarding renewal of policy. When i renewed last year, price went up 34%. I paid due to not having coverage and was told it was because of the California wild fires in 2021. This year, no notice, website said today 3/8/22 my policy was cancelled 3/9/22. No contact, no communication regarding the policy cancellation.
Very poor customer service, actually no customer service. Calling tomorrow to see if there is an explanation for cancelling the policy a day before it expired. Very disappointed, not a good company to have trust in.

This insurance company is so bad I'm not even sure if it's a real company. They don't return calls or emails. I had a claim and spent time sending them pictures, documents etc etc. and no response. I eventually took care of everything my self. Even if it was something they weren't going to cover I would have appreciated them communicating with me regarding the issue!

I have them for car insurance, home insurance, umbrella insurance, rental unit insurance, etc., and they still screwed me on a claim. $2,400 bill was refused even though it was from a large car agency. My ins agt and CSE's adjuster all said it would likely be covered. Then, a supervisor stepped in and said nope. Years of bundled coverage and he overrode his own adjuster?
Stay away from CSE. Also, after years of no accidents, I had one, and my rate went up for two years? All these reviews are right; you will wished you had used someone else. I do.

Just another reason NOT to use CSE.they have added a 2.99 fee on top of their installment fee of $6.00 for using a credit card if you select their 2, 4 or 6 pay for auto, condo, renters or homeowners. the new on is now the have removed their 1 week grace period. they used to at the policy renewal if it renewed on a certain date provide a next action legal warning notice for a week later, then after that week it goes to pending cancellation for a certain date. that is all gone. if your policy's renewal is on 8/15/2021 let say and your check reached CSE 8/16/2021 your Policy IS CANCELLED. they give you the Run around about getting it reinstated. many carrier would go by the date of the check or postmarked by date BUT NOPE not them. they will reinstate a few days after with the current payment plan and the you have to sent in an acord 37 No Loss for signed by the insured and that need to be in to CSE asap. for a company that prices that are outrageous you would thing they would not keep doing thing to make customers leave them!

Excellent service! Have a large hot water leak under my house, which required water restoration services, floor, and insulation repairs. Filed a claim with CSE to cover the cost. Bernadette followed up very quickly and always replied to my emails, phone calls, and any questions I have about the process. They have their preferred contractor for the water restoration but easily accepted the contractor of my choice. Repairs were substantial and took quite a long time to complete.
Very pleased with the CSE response time and coverage. The largest bill came from the water restoration, which was paid by CSE directly to the contractor. The adjuster, Kyle, visited the house to estimate the installation of the new floor and insulation. He was professional, polite, and provided a very fair quote for the rest of the repairs. Overall, my wife and I are very pleased with how CSE handled the claim. Thank you to Bernadette, who worked with us. Based on my experience I would recommend this insurance company! 5 stars all around.

I have been a CSE customer for a while, but I am very disappointed, and will find another company. I will present only the facts, and will leave it to the readers to figure out why I am so upset by CSE: on Saturday, 7/25/2020, I filed a claim. The claim agent, David Hernandez, contacted me on Monday, 7/27, and was responsive at that time. We agreed on a repair shop, and he started the procedure for issuing a check.
There was about $1,000 difference between the shop's estimate and CSE's estimate, which I forgot about when I was talking to David Hernandez on Monday, 7/27. Therefore, I tried to get clarifications from David Hernandez (CSE) on Tuesday, 7/28, who will cover the difference. I was not getting a reply, so I decided to risk and deal with the estimate difference later.
I contacted the shop on Tuesday, 7/28, to leave the car for repairs, but it turned out that the shop was very busy. Since I could not afford to be without a car for more than 3-4 days, I decided to use another shop. I found one, which had even a slightly better rating than the first one, and which agreed to repair my car in much more reasonable time. Unfortunately, this is my first claim, and I am not familiar with the process.
I thought I had to get CSE's permission to switch repair shops. Therefore, between 4:10 p.m. and 4:21 p.m. on Tuesday, 7/28, I left an urgent voice mail, text message, and an e-mail to David Hernandez, CSE. I was not getting any reply, so on Wednesday, 7/29, in the morning, I tried to reach him again (please remember I was not familiar with the claim process, so I thought I had to obtain CSE's approval to switch shops, and that I could be without car no longer than 3-4 days).
I could talk to him only after I had to call CSE FOUR times (the two claim operators kept connecting me to David Hernandez's line, even though I let them know, after the first time, that David Hernandez was not picking up his phone). Anyway, on Wednesday, 7/29, around 11:00 a.m., we spoke, and I requested switching the shops. Please note, the second shop has agreed to meet CSE estimate, while the first shop's estimate was higher with approximately $1,000, AND the second shop committed to finish the repairs by the end of the day on Friday, 7/31, which means that I would have saved CSE money on rental car (I have the coverage).
The only thing I requested in return from CSE was to expedite/overnight the check, so I could pay the shop on 7/31, and pick up my car. CSE refused to expedite the check, even though I was saving CSE about $1,000, and the costs for me renting a car for 6-7 days. When I shared my experience with CSE (they pretend to care about their customers, so I received a link to write them back), I received a call from a Kyle Norman, Claims Operations Manager.
According to him, it was my fault for the check being delayed, since I requested to switch shops. Never mind that the second shop saves them a ton of money. What really upset me about this Kyle Norman was: a/ he tried to use ridiculous arguments to prove to me that everything was my fault, for example he tried to convince me that even if they had overnighted the check, I would not have received it earlier (?
I still can't believe that a reasonable person would say that); b/ he lied to me, again to prove to me that everything was my fault - David Hernandez said that CSE checks come from Walnut Creek, California, while Kyle Norman said the CSE checks come from the East Coast, and when the check finally came, it came from Wells Fargo in. Walnut Creek, California.
If the Claims Operations Manager shows no flexibility, and on top of it - lies to customers, and acts according to the principle "I am right, and the client is wrong" by even using ridiculous arguments, then what could the customers expect from the regular claim adjusters?

I've been with CSE for a reasonable amount of time, so you would think you would be treated as not only a customer, but a good customer. I could not be more disappointed in their handling of my claim which is still open since last July. I'm on my 4th adjustor, which means starting all over - again! Each new person tells me something different, but more than that, their lack of communication is infuriating. I will survive this mess, but take heed and choose another company.

I will of course update this as things progress, but here's what I found: 1 I've been a loyal customers for a number of years, and not one incident. Then last year, I had a substantial incident which required me to file a claim.
They not only rejected the claim, but then immediately dropped me as a customer. The damage that was done was due to a freak weather storm. I've had 2 geologists look at this, and 5 contractors, and all of the claimed it was due to unfortunately weather conditions that never happen here. So here we are, I've replaced everything, and the reason I've paid for insurance my whole life for an incident like this, and my insurance was cancelled? What?
Then I talked to my agent, who was great, and then I'm back on. Something is a bit fishy here. I'm still working through this. Nothing was wrong with the claim agent, or the responsiveness of the customer support, but the integrity of this company is questionable. Someone decided to cancel my account, and then another decided to reinstate? To be continued.

1/23/21.just another update. I received an e-mail from CSE simply stating they were "sorry" about my experience and that someone from their claims management team would be reaching out to me "shortly." Here we are almost a week later and still no response whatsoever from CSE. So I am still holding an inadequate check made out to the wrong people from CSE and despite a disingenuous apology for my experience, they have absolutely nothing to rectify the problem. Do yourself a favor and choose any, literally ANY other company than CSE. They will totally leave you hanging in the moment you need them most.

Alright. So all of your adult life in conversations with friends and family you just hear people moaning and complaining about insurance. Health insurance. Car insurance. Home insurance. All of it. We've dealt with a ton of health insurance nonsense but never home insurance. So when we had a massive leak in our home, my heart sunk knowing what I was about to embark on with our home insurance provider, CSE. I'm happy to say we had an absolute excellent experience through the whole process.
Our rep (Bernadette Smith) was awesome. So sweet, kind and empathetic through the whole process. She always did exactly what she said she was going to do, in the timeframe she said she would. Honestly she made my stress so much less and felt she genuinely cared about our situation. A company is only as good as your employees and CSE has a role model in Bernadette. Fair payment, painless experience and great rep. I would recommend.

I've had the worst experience with this insurance company! Not only does my agent not reply, but I've had a call out to have my car towed for 6 days and they have not sent anyone to pick it up! I'm getting charged by the day where my vehicle is. They've hung up on me, asked me personal questions they didn't need to know, and are very unprofessional.
Every time I've called to schedule a tow, they say it's taken care of, but when I call back after they don't show up, they have no record of me calling the previous time, or any of the times before that. Another time, when I locked my keys in my vehicle at a gas station, I was stranded for 4 1/2 hours. Absolutely do not go with this company!

I usually don't like leaving bad reviews because I like to be the bigger person but I just had to this time. My car was involved in a 3 car accident in June. The insured of this company CSE, hit another car which in turn hit my parked car. The insured left me his number and insurance company and I started the process with the claim. Boy oh boy, getting a response seemed nearly impossible.
After waiting for several weeks, I started calling and emailing every single day. The company finally responded but said that they are only claiming 50 percent fault. That didn't make sense to me because if their insured hadn't hit the other car than that car wouldn't have hit mine. I sent an email stating that & of course got no response.
I received a check in the mail yesterday (October 5th) for of course only 50 percent of the initial estimate. Which honestly if that's the best I can get from this company than I'll take it. Too stressful waiting for a response.

Incompetent staff. I have an equipment breakdown policy on my plan. My water heater failed. While they did cover it under equipment breakdown, they classified it as water damage and filed not one, but 2 reports with LexisNexxis. Which of course if impacting my renewal rates and ability to change ins providers. They did internally correct it, but no one seems to know how to correct it with LexisNexxis and adjust my rates. I have had to reach out to them multiple times to even get a response. Good thing I'm persistent.

My experience with CSE was nothing less than remarkable. Nobody wants to have to file a claim, but its good to know that when you do, the process is fast and friendly. My agent, Jennifer Rosen was fast, friendly, and professional, I had my approved claim within a few days (including a weekend) and my vehicle in the shop right away! She gets an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++! I am a CSE believer.

Last Night I tried to use the CSE Roadside Service that I pay for as part of my auto policy. They should not be allowed to sell a service they cannot deliver. Thirty minute wait on the phone to talk with a CSE roadside reprehensive. Hire the amount of people to deliver the service. CSE received call at 6pm tow truck did not arrive at the auto until 1130pm in 100 plus degree weather.
Nice to leave a 64 year old out in the heat. The tow company they contract 777 had a receptionist that could only work for Freddie Cougar as her exact words were we will get there when we get there. Leave the keys in the car and go home. So there though was to abandon the auto. They dropped it off in the wrong spot but who would notice at 1am in the morning. VERY POOR SERVCE FROM A CUT RATE CHEAP INSURACE COMPANY. IF THEY GO BANKRUPT IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My cat. converter was stolen out of my car. Appraiser showed up with no jack. He was unable to take photos for his report. Took about a month for him to get around to it. When I asked for some extra rental car coverage, due to this guy's slow response, they refused and tried to blame it on my mechanic. CSE guy had the nerve to say the catalytic converter install should only take an hour, so the 3 days at the shop, and the extra rental days, is the mechanic's fault. Really?
And how long should it take to take a photo and fill out an insurance report? If I were the president of this company, I would have been so embarrassed by the appraiser's lack of preparation and slow behavior that I would have gladly paid for a few extra rental days. Instead, goodbye to 2 home policies and an auto policy. Worst experience EVER with an insurance company.

I cannot recommend CSE Insurance Group for the following reasons: Terrible customer service: Their representatives were not working in my best interest. They are rude and unprofessional. I even received a nasty email from one of them.(happy to share it.) Covid low use refunds: While other auto insurance carries have issued refunds as a result of Covid-19, and plan on issuing more, CSE plays pass the buck with, "we're working on it", and "should we check your mileage".pathetic is what they are. Overpriced: After repeatedly being told they CSE could do nothing to reduce my rates, I was able to find premium coverage at 250/500 with matching UN/Under 250/500 coverage for $900 less through Costco. Sneeky: CSE will get you to sign a consent to lower your UN/Under to 25/50.not cool.
Although I never signed the form, they lowered my UN/under coverage limits to 25/50 and included a pre-filled consent form. Their whole operation is so bad, I was beginning to wonder if they weren't a scam business. Yes, this review is scathing, however I feel that I am doing a public service by sharing this information. I was with them for 5 years and could have saved ~$4,500 during that period.

CSE has the worst service and very slimy business practices - I happened to get in an accident and was aware of my rates going up which I accepted the amount I had to pay. Almost a year later, I looked at my mail and with no explanation they increased my rates by almost 100%. They recommend good rates to begin with but will eventually screw you over. Cancelling my service and really hope no one else falls for their unethical antics.

Shoutout to Daniel Solano for being the actual WORST insurance adjuster! His passive aggression, lack of communication, and straight up rudeness has really been a pleasure to work with (sarcasm).I love that he can sit on my insurance check and not issue it after months of waiting for it. Even my vendors say they have never dealt with an insurance adjuster so rude. Just go somewhere else.

I am so shocked about the poor reviews. My adjuster, Diane S., was amazing! She responded to my emails super fast and was on top of it every step of the way. (even though, I've pretty much called her every other day for six months!) Super patient and Super helpful when my whole kitchen was gutted out and re-done due to water damage. She made a very exhausting experience into something much less painful than it could have been! Lol. had insurance with Cse since 2010 & I'm super Happy With them. I just had to write a review after having my amazing experience.

This is the WORST POSSIBLE "insurance" company! Avoid this company at ALL costs, first of all you cannot reach these "agents" at any time during the day, they placed blame on me without even contacting me, this is the second, time, I've been in accident before and the company was not responding to the other party and they tried to get me to pay out of pocket! Terrible terrible service, pay an extra penny and go to any other company. Will never come back to this insurance! And DO NOT recommend you to get this scammy insurance!

Never buy insurance in CSE. If possible, I would rate it as minus. It is very hard to get reimbursed for your loss. They even think the wall holes cut by tenants and windows broken by tenants belong to normal wear or tenant abuse. They do not think the damage belong to vandalism. They said it is not vandalism if you did not see and prove the tenant cut the wall or broken the window.
It is ridiculous. Their agents do not response your phone or emails either. My friends said their insurance has no problem to claim these kind of damage as vandalism. Very bad experience with CSE.

I'm surprised by the low reviews for CSE. My experience with CSE for 20+ years - Auto, Home, Umbrella - has been highly favorable. During that time we have had over 10 Auto claims (windshields, vehicle theft, 3rd party, our teenagers learning to drive) and 1 Home claim. Every claim was handled expeditiously, fairly, and within the scope of the policy - both by CSE and the Agent. Their rates appear competitive too.
