NAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd., is rated by A.M. Best, the leading independent insurance rating agency, with an "A+" (Superior) strength rating. KHI's sole business is providing insurance for horse owners, such as coverage against mortality, infertility and other losses.
Exclusion Free Guarantee until age 15 ("EFG till 15") - This guarantees that if an injury or sickness occurs after the NAS mortality policy is in place, the insurance company cannot exclude coverage related to the health problem until your horse turns 15. With most other companies there is only an additional 12 month guarantee that the health problem will be covered.
Also sometimes referred to as "Full Mortality" or "All Risks Mortality, " this policy reimburses you the Agreed Value in the event your horse dies, is stolen, develops severe ataxia (loss of coordination) or is humanely destroyed (if a veterinarian determines your horse should be euthanized for humane reasons as defined in the policy).
