This agency has a mix bag of agents who run the gamut from good to poor. And in my situation I was assigned to a poor one who didn't provide the requested information and didn't follow-up over a long period of time. Management didn't do its job to investigate or follow up. As a result of major frustrations with the service we received, we moved all our policies to another agency in Seattle.
Poor service is what we received from an agent who had been assigned to handle our commercial policies. He was consistently non-responsive to calls and emails. Totally unacceptable. Not what you want with an insurance agent or agency. We have used this agency for our homes, boats, cars, scooters and umbrella insurance policies for 20+ years without any claims.
Its a family owned business that sells various insurance brands. However, when we decided to put our Bainbridge property into the short term vacation rental market last June, the newly assigned agent with several years of experience provided poor initial assistance and sustained this poor level of assistance until we left the company. Specifically, in April when I requested revisions to coverage levels, he didn't follow through on his to dos and did not respond to numerous calls and emails to him over a 7 month period.
When I talked to management, the VP apologized and indicated that my commercial policies would be re-assigned to a competent agent (and one we have had confidence in). The VP wasn't specifically familiar with the situation, made no promise to investigate or follow up with me--just re-assign. While the re-assignment made sense, I had had it. I moved my policies and wrote an email to the same VP & ccd the good agent who I mentioned favorably. She responded, but he did not. No follow through. Says a lot.
