Avemco Insurance

Avemco's website offer's a policy addon that allows you to be a "trader/hobbyist" and cycle through buying and selling airplanes. The description on their website says the only condition is that not more than 6 planes are owned at any one time. I inquired about this policy, the first time i called the individual i got on the phone had no clue this was offered and told me it wasn't offered, i told him where to find it on the website and he still told me it wasn't offered. So, I waited a couple of days and sent in an email request for a quote.

I get a call on this past Monday and spoke to an individual answered a few questions. While i was in the shower the rep tried to call me back but I got no voice mail or email from him or any communication since. That brings us to today, Friday 5 days later i call in and I'm told you are declining to quote a policy that is in line with what you offer on your website because i said we might buy/sell 10 planes in a year and have 4 at any given time.

Why do you bother to advertise something on your website that your staff has zero training on and you have no intention of writing policies for? I've wasted a week of my time trying to get a quote on a policy that you have no interest apparently in writing. I can not in good conscience and will not recommend Avemco to anyone I know or anyone who has anything but the most basic cookie cutter of needs

Avemco is the best! Their underwriters are the real deal and go above and beyond to provide first-rate customer service. I know I can trust Avemco and will be a lifelong customer. I am so excited to see them at EAA AirVenture!

I've been insured with Avemco for over thirty years. Four claims. Absolute pristine customer service. In my opinion, if your not insured with Avemco, you're probably not insured.

I have been a policyholder for a few months now, I haven't needed to use my insurance yet, and hope I never do. I went with Avemco because they were the best by far on my premium. I have called them twice with questions and they are really easy to talk to. I most recently spoke with Mel and he was very helpful and told me I was only about 7 hours away from a 9% reduction on my premium! Time to go fly! I am very pleased with their services and everyone I have talked to!

Many businesses claim that their people is what makes them better than their competition. But with Avemco aircraft insurance, it's really true. In fact, they're the only aircraft insurance company that allows you to pick up the phone and talk directly with an underwriter or even one of their executives, The specialize in covering small piston engine singles and twins. They also offer incredibly inexpensive insurance for pilots who rent airplanes from FBOs or flight schools and they've been doing it for over 50 years.

This is the only insurance company I've ever been with where I can talk straight to the underwriter anytime I need. I can make an instant change to my policy anytime I want and never have to go through a broker who then calls the insurance company. The coverage and service is the best. I've been in aviation for a long time and this is the only company I use or recommend.

I'm new to aviation and had a great experience with Avemco when shopping for insurance. They helped walk me through what I needed to, what to look for in a policy and the steps I could take to get the best rate. You can tell they genuinely care and know their stuff!

Any insurance company can be friendly and helpful when all they do is collect premiums from you and never pay out a claim. You only really find out how good they are when you have a claim. I paid Avemco tens of thousands of dollars in premiums over a thirty year period without a claim until recently. It has taken TWO months of harassment and never ending requests for logbook verifications on my engine, propellor, and airframe, etc. for a $1200.00 incident of simple hangar rash.

I still have not been paid. I bought the repair part from one FBO and had another FBO install it. Both FBO facilities said that Avemco was the worst insurance company they ever dealt with. They were not satisfied when my FBO sent them the invoice for the part ( what they paid) and told them that they sold it to me for zero markup. They also insisted on getting the invoice of what I paid.

To top off the entire terrible experience, They sent me a document that I had to sign saying that I did not commit fraud. To add insult to injury, they asked me to spend the money to have the document notarized. I complained and they dropped the notary requirement. I still have not received my check. I can't imagine what it would be like if I had a serious accident.

They hire a third pit bulldog party to handle their claims. This third party looks for any reason to deny your claim. I am dropping Avemco as my aircraft insurer. Don't be fooled like I was. Find a better company.
