Affinity Group Underwriters is a partner and a resource for associations, brokers, third-party administrators and insurers entering or expanding in the affinity group and specialty life and health insurance markets. We welcome new product concepts and ideas from all sources and will work with our partners to bring them to the market quickly, profitably and effectively. At our core, we are underwriters. We have the experience, skills and knowledge to evaluate and price risks on behalf of our insurer partners.

Before creating AGU, the principals and key staff acquired significant underwriting experience working for major national US and Canadian insurance companies, including division-level bottom-line responsibility. We understand what it takes to turn an underwriting profit and have done so consistently for our carrier partners.
Our ultimate clients are the members, customers or employees of the affinity groups which endorse our programs. Brokers, insurance companies and sponsoring affinity groups are our partners. We also develop and manage programs for targeted aggregations of demographically-similar individuals who are connected by common interests or activities. The degree of affinity which members, customers or employees feel for the group is a primary predictor of program success.

Lloyd's is, of course, a very well-known and highly-respected brand worldwide with a storied history. Coverholders are an integral part of the way Lloyd's interacts locally with the markets it serves worldwide.
The University of Wisconsin in 1969. He spent 16 years with INA (Insurance Company of North America - predecessor to CIGNA) in the United States, England, France and Canada. After managing a regional office for Pearl & Associates, a third-party administrator for 3 years, he joined North American Life in 1990 to build a US association group division.
