Homer Smith Insurance

Upon recommendations from others we know in PT when we moved to PT 6 years ago, we went to Homer Smith and met with Ryan to get our home and auto insurance. It has been an excellent experience from the beginning - always responsive and very professional. We have recommended Homer Smith to other family members and they have switched to Homer Smith and all have found Homer Smith to be an excellent insurance provider. We are retired and have have many insurance experiences over the years. But Ryan, you are the best. Thank for your great service.

Homer Smith Insurance has been there for me through a few different needs. They are quick to respond, have always found me fair deals, and have coverage for different needs other agencies didn't have the capability to do. Ryan is awesome.

This review is for Maggie Merritt (in the Port Townsend branch of Homer Smith Insurance) who, I must say, might be the most patient person in Jefferson County. We have Safeco insurance on multiple rentals, our home, two vehicles. Plus an umbrella policy. Over the past 18 months, we have been selling the rentals and she has unfailingly sent us the correct form to cancel our policy and promptly processed it. Ditto auto insurance.

At one point, I wanted to see if we could get better coverage and contacted State Farm, Allstate, etc. through other agencies. That's where Maggie's service really shone. Responsive, accurate. We stayed with Safeco. Last year we moved into one of our rentals and sold our old residence, requiring a policy to be changed from landlord to homeowner. I, a genuine insurance dummy, got confused about all the refunds and Bal Due statements. Maggie hung in there and patiently explained what she had to do to align all our policy terms to end on the same date, again to help this dense policyholder. We've had contact with other agents at the PT office but Maggie is the one to help you. Highly recommend her!

We called and asked about a product. The first time, she promised to call back in a few, it took her 5 days to call back. The woman who worked there came back with an outrageous quote. When we stated that we were looking for just a specific product and did not want to pay more than our home insurance for just that. She promised to call back, and then nothing. Just like the rest of the work ethic (or lack there of) in this town. Unless you are being gouged, for almost nothing, dont expect anything positive from these people.

I have happily doing business with Homer Smith Insurance for well over 30 years and I have enjoyed the great treatment and advice that Homer and his polite and helpful staff have given me and my family that I have never gone to another insurance company for quotes on my businesses, cars, trucks, my home, or my boats. This is my genuine and honest review of Pt Townsend's best insurance company.but how would I really know? because I have only been doing business with them, Sincerely Larry Browning

Offer good product but Joan has horrible customer service. She has an arrogance about her that is off putting. Because of her poor communication style we have selected another insurance agency to conduct business with. The product and pricing were good but not good enough to have to deal with Joan.
