My roof is 60% damaged and my Allstate policy says that if they can find a matching shingle that they will only replace those shingles with the same shingle. It is called "wear and tear" and they do not cover that. My roof is over 16 years old so all of my shingles have completely faded so they want 60% of my roof to be black and the rest to be grey.
I would recommend you not getting your homeowner policy with Allstate. In addition, they tried every single tactic possible to deny the claim. This has been going on for over 6 months and only because I would not give up on every single road block they tried to do to me.

If I could leave zero stars I would. the reps are supposed to make the process smoother, however they have made it worse. their lack of communication is preposterous, have received different actions from multiple reps, and the whole experience for total loss has been a nightmare. DO NOT HAVE ALLSTATE AS YOUR PROVIDER

Well, to start with, I thought it would be good insurance since I was buying it thru Costco, to place a warrenty on my HP laptop, I spent over 500 dollars so that made me qualify for the insurance allstate offered, it was two years spills, on the computer, breaks, from dropping and any defects. It seemed all well, until I had a claim, It was quickly assessed and qualified for repair, I asked for a lable that could be sent to my address ( I didn't have a printer to create the label myself)and they sent one out promptly, I waited the amount of time they said it would take(ten days, because of covid and slower postal.
I even waited an additional twelve more days, it never came. I contacted them and they propmtly sent another one out to me, a month went by, It never came, so then I started asking to please give me a tracking system, which they said was not possible. Since it had been my fifth attempt at getting the label to send for repair, I asked to speak to a supervisor since I thought they would surely want to know how this could happen. I got absolutely no satisfaction upon reporting this to their superiors, still waiting another ten days! I hope this review helps others.

I got flood insurance through Allstate. Apparently my mortgage company did not make payments on this even though they said they would. I got a letter saying that my policy expired two weeks ago. The so called phone expert you get when you call the 1-800 number needs some serious customer service training. First she insinuated the policy lapsed over a year ago despite what the letter I received yesterday stated.
Then she claimed the letter was just a solicitation. Then she refused to take payment or reinstate policy even though I am only two weeks delinquent and the letter said I had a 30 day grace period. She didn't listen, didn't offer solutions and was generally rude. However, the other customer service agents have been great. When I was able to get a hold of my agent, I was able to reinstate my policy with great service. I will try not to call Allstate after hours as the level of service is not consistent.

This criminal organization has stolen my car. My brother and I used them for auto insurance because of a multi-car discount. Recently, my car was totaled. One if their adjusters ADVISED ME to take settlement money and get a new car. My car was TAKEN and a check for $3000 was sent out.and then RETURNED. My bank account was over $1000 overdrawn because of this.
I come to find (after hours and hours and hours of trying to talk to someone) that because my dad's name was on the title of the car and mine on the insurance policy, they don't want to pay me. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THIS WHEN I GOT THE POLICY? They have now stolen my totaled car and refuse to pay me for it. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION. YOU WILL BE ROBBED IF THEY CAN FIND A WAY TO DO IT.

Allstate is a terrible insurance company. The person that hit my car is insured by Allstate. The person that hit my car even admitted that it was his fault to me and the Glen Ellyn police officer. this was done while backing out of a parting spot. The pictures show that I have damage to the drivers rear quarter panel in back of the rear tire, while the person that hit me, has damage to the rear bumper.
The pictures are evident who is at fault. Allstate said that their investigation has decided that the accident is 50/50. I have to take my claim through my own insurance company and pay my $500 deductible. My investigation shows 2 things. The other driver was not using his backup camera since his car has one, and Allstate is a crap company. Instead of using the good hands, they just give you a finger.

This company has a business model of denying claims. I had storm damage to my roof. Twice they said they would replace the roof and both times they changed their mind only offering to repair the damaged areas. A proper repair is not possible because the shingles have been discontinued. Doing research I learned that Allstate is rated as the very worst insurance company in America.

I needed a copy of my recent flood declaration, never got one. I chatted with Allstate and got nowhere with a rude agent. She gave me a flood dept number to call. And told me where I can register and open a new act to access my docs. I went thru they're process to register with allstate and when I was sent an email to finish the registration, the continue button DID NOTHING! MORE WASTED TIME ON A MALFUNCTIONING BUTTON. so.
I called the Allstate flood dept. 'Antonio' was useless and had me on hold for 5 minutes while he tried to transfer me to a licensed Agent! I was On the phone for 16 wasted minutes total! The Allstate licensed agent got on the phone and found my policy BUT CAN'T LOOK AT IT, SEND IT OR ANYTHING! BOTH THE AGENTS ON THE PHONE WERE WORKING FROM HOME! AND USELESS. I am going to get my insurance needs from someone who knows what they are doing and cares about their jobs.

Do not get Allstate insurance! I paid my homeowners premiums for decades and never filed one claim. Hail storm rolled through and did some damage. The adjuster, with a straight face, told me I had hail damage on my sheds roof, my AC housing, wooden fence and the metal components on my roof BUT, no damage to the shingles that is just blistering! Claim denied! The one time you need them they will screw you! Beware of the hype, they will do whatever it takes to deny claims. I will never use Allstate again!

Last year, I found out that when I transitioned from Geico that my evidence of liability insurance was not submitted to the DMV. I am not sure if the burden is on Allstate to do this or me. The DMV renewal states that it is submitted electronically by the insurance company. I never had a problem with Geico doing this when I paid for my insurance every 6 months, was a problem and continues to be a problem with All State.

An electronic check was provided and with more than sufficient funds. it was rejected twice for no valid reason. called service and they said it is active and will be switched to direct mail. But instead they terminated and the customer lapsed. This is so bad, no warning no message saying payment needs to be made. And there is no one to call to address the issue. This is appalling service.

I have been an Allstate customer for 25 years. I recently skipped a payment, didn't realize I hadn't made it, then made the next one. My agency let me know a few days ago, and so I asked if I could pay it off, or if they could give me a few days as it's the literal middle of the week. They said they couldn't. So i contacted corporate through their social media, they also essentially told me pay up or be dropped. 25 years as a customer, not even a hiccup in all that time, and that is their level of customer service and appreciation. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Signed up for homeowner's insurance 10 days ago and the policy is still in a "pending" state. Under my account on the website, it has said, "your policy is being processed. Please keep in mind that it can take up to 48 hours for your policy to appear online, " for 10 days now! I'm supposed to close on the house in 4 days (2 business days), but I can't get a mortgage finalized until Allstate activates the policy, so Allstate is jeopardizing my home purchase. I've called customer service at least a dozen times, and nobody ever seems to know what's going on or what to do. I've been told "it should be done by tomorrow" multiple times over the course of 10 days. Today, I called Allstate 5 times and got hung up on every time after the robot put me on hold.
If the policy isn't active by tomorrow morning, my mortgage broker is going to have to scramble, try to get an insurance agent he knows to approve and activate an insurance policy, and then try to get my mortgage finalized in a single day. I don't even know if that's possible.

My car broke down and I called for my towing coverage to be used. We get everything squared away then two hours later they call me back to see if the tow company picked up the car and I said no they haven't then they tried to charge me $95 for a flat bed to use to tow the car and when I said the cars been towed before it doesn't need a flatbed they said they weren't going to send a towing company out until I give them the $95 AFTER they already told me about two hours beforehand that the towing company was on its way and I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket.
I called the towing company with the number allstate provided, allstate never dispatched the towing company. This is the WORST treatment I've ever had with an insurance company.

Any insurance company can boast about lowering your car insurance rate. All they have to do is provide you with less coverage. That's precisely how my Allstate salesperson met my auto insurance price point. Unbeknownst to me I found this out the hard way a couple of months later when Allstate attempted to charge me extra for uninsured motorist protection.
I refused to pay for additional coverage because it should have been in my original policy quote. Due to the dishonesty of the Allstate sales weasel that sold me a lemon policy I would be giving Allstate the boot in a few short months for pulling such an unscrupulous and unethical stunt. Allstate wanted the extra revenue for the uninsured motorist protection so the company pulled the funds out of my savings account.
They didn't get away with much money because I strategically kept only one dollar in the account. I filed a complaint with my bank and prevented the Allstate swindlers from getting their dirty hands in my bank account ever again. A phone representative from Allstate assured me that all I would have to do is sign a form opting out of uninsured motorist coverage and the overdraft funds would be reversed.
The Allstate employee lied. I was never provided with a full refund. Over the phone I could not see the Allstate employee's purported "good hands". He had his fingers crossed while making his pledge to me. There are valid reasons why a well-known consumer advocacy publication places Allstate near the very the bottom of customer service ratings. You're in grubby, little thieving hands with Allstate. Now I get the chance to give Allstate my hands, two, vigilantly chosen fingers at a time.

Absolutely terrible. I had a claim in 2017 and Florida was my agent. Customer service was worse than bad and I had to sleep in my home during repairs (drywall and floor staining) because they wouldn't put me in a hotel. Bad follow up and very stressful process. Claim was not my fault but from neighbor above toilet flooding. I recently had to put in 2 claims 4 years later.
One because of a construction project on building and another from neighbor above dish washer flooding. They sent me a letter to cancel my insurance with no prior warning that filling 2 claims would cancel me, 3 claims in 5 years. I ask if I could cancel one of the claims because no work has been done and they said NO. They were supposed to call me back today and didn't.
I have not even got the work done because there has been no follow up with me and they wont send out a second restoration company for an estimate as the first was too high. This company has treated me terrible over the last 5 years. DO NOT USE JOE SCHNEIDER! BEWARE! I went to look for another insurance company today and All State Joe Schneider has 5 claims on my profile, I only filed 3!

Why is Allstate so bad? Delay, deny and defend claims. Allstate consistently and unreasonably delays paying claims to force its policyholders to give up, totally denies valid claims or offers a lower amount than what should actually be paid, and unfairly defends claims that should have simply been paid or settled. They go fishing to increase your rate customer service rep, rude will not transfer calls to any one with a solution to your problem and if you get hit by their client they find every reason not pay stating that they are unable to contact their client even after three months. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. please Never
