Health Care Service Corporation, a Mutual Legal Reserve Company (HCSC), and an Independent Licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, is the largest customer-owned health insurer in the United States, which operates our Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) has medical policies that serve as guidelines for health care benefit coverage decisions, which may vary according to the different products and benefit plans offered by each state. Medical policies are based on data from peer-reviewed scientific literature, from criteria developed by specialty societies and from guidelines adopted by other health care organizations. Over the years, we have developed a unique infrastructure that allows us to provide services few other health care companies can provide.
