We purchased renters insurance for a two story home with basement located in the Peaselburg neighborhood of Covington through their Erlanger office. The only question we were asked is how many dollars worth of personal property insurance we wanted. No other options or additional endorsements were presented to us nor were we told of any exclusions or circumstances under which our property would not be covered.

Our home was flooded with two feet of sewage backup last weekend and our claim is being denied because we did not have a sewage and drain backup endorsement on our policy. If we had been told this $50/year endorsement was necessary then we would have purchased it. Now we are out $15-20k in personal property loss. Additionally, both our cars were flooded with sewage and the agent did not have rental coverage on our policies, which I have been told is this agencies standard of practice.

My husband is a carpenter, and we have had contractors insurance with Erie for years. Every year it gets higher and higher, no claims, nothing. I have been a Globe customer for almost 10 years. In the past Globe was an awesome company to work with. I have recommended their services to many over the last decade but I can no longer do so. Recently customer service is horrible, the people are rude and unwilling to help. We are moving to another company and could never recommend using Globe again. I would have given 0 stars but google wouldn't let me.
