Been customer over a year, agent insured wrong vehicle, called multiple times and agent never corrected the issue. I only found out my vehicle was uninsured because I was pulled over and notified by police. The agent still was unable to fix the issue. I had to call the actual insurance provider and get it fixed myself and was actually cheaper then my prior vehicle.
I still Stayed with Marcum insurance for another 6 months, and finally decided to go else where. The customer service is horrible, they do not communicate, return emails, or have any answers to any questions. I get better customer service and going directly to the insurance provider versus Marcum.

They did their job sufficiently- I was able to quickly get a very affordable policy that met my needs. Everything was handled within 24hrs, and the price that I pay for full coverage in MI is magically somehow cheaper than what I paid in IL. I removed two stars because there were employees inside the building not wearing masks. As a nurse who has had to work on our overflow COVID units and as someone who lost two grandparents to COVID, I was appalled at the lack of respect for potential customers.

Doug Marcum has a terrible attitude, I am a paying customer asking simple questions about the policy that I am about to pay for and he is being completely short with me giving me attitude telling me that it is the cheapest he has ever seen the rate to just pay for it. News flash, that isn't the correct way to do business. When a customer has questions you should take the time to answer them accordingly.

When I first came to Marcum, I met the owner, Doug, who was very helpful in providing options to me for auto insurance. After I left, I thought, "how great it is to get personal service from the owner himself!" Through the years, I have worked with Doug's staff who are always cheerful and knowledgeable. Today, I emailed in and guess who answered me? Doug!
