Regulated by the Kansas Insurance Department, KCAMP was formed to provide a viable alternative to commercial insurance because in the late 1980's and early 1990's insurance for municipalities was difficult to obtain and extremely expensive. KCAMP is not unique. There are over 430 public entity pools in the United States to which 85% of all public entities belong.That means in the U.S., most schools, cities, public transit systems, special districts, townships and counties belong to pools. Over time pools have proven to be the preferred alternative to the private insurance market.
Services
The KCAMP Board of Trustees consists of seven elected officials, each from a different member. Each Trustee serves a term of three years. The Board provides strategic direction to, and oversight of, the pool. Our members are comprised of 104 Kansas municipalities including 75 of the 105 Kansas counties.
KCAMP provides property, liability, crime and surety coverage. For more detailed information on our coverage programs, or to request a quote, please use the contact box below. The property program provides all risks, replacement cost coverage with limits up to $1 billion per occurrence. Coverage for loss arising from catastrophic events such as earthquake, flood and terrorism is included.
The Tenant Users Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP) Program provides low cost General Liability insurance to tenant users of KCAMP member venues and facilities. It protects both the facility user and the KCAMP member against claims by "third parties" who may be injured as a result of attending the event.
