We are headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina with offices in Florida, Greenville, New York, and New Jersey. The Preferred Group has two separate divisions: Preferred Reinsurance Intermediaries, Inc. and Preferred Consulting Services. We provide insurance and reinsurance brokerage and consulting services to clients throughout North America. Services
It all began in May of 1983 when our founder, Robert H. (Bob) Sanders, had a vision. At the time he worked for the Seibels Bruce Group, one of South Carolina's insurance groups, founded in 1869. Bob started in personal lines and over the course of almost two decades, worked his way up to Vice President and Manager of the company, which included work with managing general agents and reinsurance of insurance companies.
We are a client-focused intermediary with both the depth of experience and the contacts in the insurance and reinsurance industry to achieve results that best meet our clients' requirements. We see our role as being the "quarterback" to help you move your business plan forward and achieve your goals.
The Preferred Group believes in getting involved in the community and also supporting volunteer work by our employees. Corporately, there are 3 main charitable organizations in South Carolina that we support: Carolina Children's Home, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (we support the local chapter but this is a national organization), and Sistercare, Inc. The Carolina Children's Home is an accredited treatment facility offering a diversity of programs to meet the needs of children and families.
