Northeast Bank provided first mortgage financing secured by a 15,000 SF vacant, retail building in Southern California. The purpose of the loan was to refinance existing, high cost, private debt, and to finance certain leasing costs to improve and tenant the building. The 24-month, floating rate loan had no up-front fees and was priced at 7.50% with a flexible prepayment structure.

The Harrison Maine branch is lovely and I've been with them for nearly 2 decades. The Portland location is a step down for sure. I went to the 24-hour ATM at 7pm and it wouldn't accept my card at all. Pretty frustrating because I have a check I needed to deposit and it exceeded the mobile deposit limit. Not efficient with people who need their funds in a timely manner. Even more frustrating because I had to drive 40 min (closest branch) just for the 24 Hour ATM to be LOCKED.

This bank is very skilled at making money at your expense.they should change their name to NorFEEst Bank. Such a rip off - but the good news is the on-line banking is horrible!

Absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced in 40 years of business. When inquiring why they cannot provide me with a year end accounting of my escrow disbursements on a million dollar loan, I was told by the banker "If you don't like it you can put on your walking shoes and find another lender". I said "you obliviously don't care about me as a customer"', to which he replied "No, I don't." I would NEVER, EVER work with these people if at all possible. I don't know how these lazy, uncaring losers stay in business.

They have a loan officer that is ethically challenged. DO NOT GET A MORTGAGE LOAN from these people. They are untrustworthy.

Fees, fees, and more fees! If you sign up for the 1.1 account like did, all I can say is read the fine print! This bank is totally backwards. Their apps are stuck in 2010, they look like they were written by a 12 year old with Microsoft Paint. The website for online banking isn't much better and routinely locked me out. Pretty sure it was written for Windows 95.

No way to get back in unless you mail stuff or other super backwards procedures. I had to mail letters to do super simple tasks - what year is it - 1955? And for the fees - $7 fee came out of nowhere on two accounts with no warning. Needless to say, that's it for me. When confronting the banker about the fees, she tried to say "all banks have this fee for this account" -- so charge me a fee and lie to me too? Needless to say everything got closed right then. Never again. There's plenty of good, forward thinking local banks. Not this one. Don't waste your time, look elsewhere.
