Let us introduce you to Patrons Oxford Insurance Company located in the Portland Technology Park in Portland, Maine. The motto of our company, "A Maine Company for Maine People", takes us back to the origin of the company. Each company was established by a group of Grange members, all of whom were Maine farmers.
The personal umbrella provides excess liability coverage over your underlying insurance policies such as homeowner or automobile. Lawsuits these days can reach catastrophic levels as a result of liability losses and most underlying policies are not written with high enough liability limits to adequately protect your assets when these types of losses occur.

I have been insured with Patrons for a number of years, in that time I had 2 claims both of which were handled quickly and professionally. The adjuster was very pleasant and always got back to me as promised, I was very pleased. Even with my claims the premiums are competitive and automatic payments saved me money and it is very convenient. My local agent Marsh Agency is always available to answer my questions, they provide great service and I like knowing that my money stays in the local, community.

Absolute terrible company and business practices! I was in an accident (not at fault) and a Patrons insurer was at fault. I was put through the ringer because of them. FIVE WEEKS without my car because of them, even though the police report was incredibly clear who was at fault. The adjuster was unprofessional and in simple terms, an absolute witch.
When I first spoke with her she was rude and unprofessional and of course I was rude back and frustrated because of this situation. I believe she had a personal vendetta against me because of that. She dragged her feet and took FIVE WEEKS to claim liability (again, police report was INCREDIBLY clear who was at fault). It wasn't until I complained about them to the Maine Dept of Insurance and threatened legal action that she finally claimed liability.
What a coincidence that after 5 weeks of dragging her feet, that she "made a decision" 2 days after I threatened legal action. I pity anyone who has them as insurance, but mostly anyone who has to deal with them in a claim.

After their agent (by their own admission) made an absolute mess of my home insurance policy I called patrons to advise them of the issue and seek another agent. Although their receptionist was very professional and promised me a call back from their underwriting department that department decided they would not call me back and instead had the agent who messed things up in the first place call me back.
Since they weren't willing to talk to me I decided $100 in saving wasn't worth it. I took my business elsewhere and suggest you do too. Unacceptable unprofessional customer service!

I am so unhappy and upset with this company! First told one amount so I agreed becuz it was gonna save me money! Then pull money out random times and then set the payment for feb to come out today despite saying I won't have the money til Friday, they don't care at all! I have been charged a 25$ fee now and my acct is negative. on top of this the amounts changed and didn't contact me regarding totals at all. And NO I'm not saving money and wish I never switch! Worst company ever!

I got switched with this company and had the worst experience. Poor customer service and will cancel you after your first claim. I had to shop around for, insurance companies and it in a matter of weeks because they didn't like my claim about my home. I was just inquiring about an issue in, my home so they cancel me. And made it hard, for me to find a new insurer company. Terrible company never call to do a claim, they will give you a hard time.
