I had a great experience obtaining classic car insurance through American Collectors Insurance. Before I completed filling out the online application I received a call from Donna Brown who walked me through the application process, answered all of my questions and within minutes was approved for coverage on midnight that same day. The service was friendly and efficient unlike any I've ever experienced before. I would highly recommend American Collectors Insurance to anyone wanting insurance for their prized Classic car.

The automated answering service is antiquated and over the course of two weeks, I called multiple times at differing hours. Each time, I was automatically put in a long wait cue with the typical. "We are experiencing higher than normal call volume." This tells me that they are either under-staffing their customer service call center or not invested in the service side of the equation. Also, ACI, if you see this, please spare me and the rest of the readers your sad song about coivd staffing.
Do better, figure it out. Additionally, once I was connected to a person, their computer system was dial-up slow and took forever to jump from one screen to the next prolonging the call unnecessarily. I have two classic cars. Both that are in my possession. One is registered in Iowa and the other in Nebraska. Both are on the same renewal cycle and date.
I was send a policy laps notice without prior communication for one car but not the other. When I called, the customer service person could not figure out why I only received one notice for one of my two cars and did not know why it was sent without a policy payment request prior too. To make matters worse, I only got one of the two insurance cards and when I paid the bill, I was asked to do some funky double payment on one cars policy that i was told would also cover the other. In short, this was a mess. Not impressed. Very unorganized. I wonder if a claim would be as painful. I am inclined to think so.

This is a great company. I filled out their application online and got a call back from one of their customer service people within five minutes. Everything was finalized quickly and I received my insurance docs via email within less than an hour. The customer service person was very friendly and helpful, and their coverage and rates can't be beat for classic car insurance.

I have always found them to be responsive and helpful, at the inception of my policy and through periodic increases in value and the addition of supplemental coverages. I haven't experienced any of the better known carriers for comparison, but then, I've never felt the need.

This is the best insurance company I've ever had experience with. I had an issue with the DMV and a mistake made years ago with a previous owner of my classic car and the team at collector car insurance cleared everything up directly with the DMV for me when I could not get it accomplished myself. Many thanks for the excellent customer service and customer support they gave me! Clollector Car insurance has my loyalty and I added two additional vehicles to my policy not just for the great customer service buyer jts also the least expensive insurance available

I transferred the insurance of my 1981 Mercedes 380SL to American Collectors Insurance, after comparing it apples to apples to my other collector car insurance company. American Collectors Insurance is rated at the top of the collector car insurance industry, and the price was much better. As an added plus, I received an actual insurance agent, that I can talk to, if I ever have a problem.
With my other insurance company, I never spoke to the same person twice, and the only information that they had on me was whatever was on the computer screen in front of them. It feels good to have an agent that will work with me.

First call was professional and friendly as usual. Ive been a customer for many years, a return customer with no issues. I was getting a quote for my 93 camaro pace car a collectable w 35,00 miles and only 145 hard top made and perfect condition but was denied coverage because i did not own 2 other dailey cars but i do a new Rav 4 and a Triumph TR7.
I was never asked this before unheard of and unprofessional no other companies ask that dumb question the underwriter who denied coverage needs to be fired for loss of business and loss of a good customers i know a lot of contacts threw car meets, auctions, public and shows and won't recommend anymore.

Got a quote from Hagerty and was baffled by how much they were quoting me for a year policy (between 2-3k and I havent had a ticket in over 5 years). American Collectors not only saved me more than 75% but there sales reps were much faster at responding to my inquiry and made sure I had my insurance in less than 2 hours. The policy was reviewed and understood. The process went well. I've had insurance with a well known company for 50 years plus. I've had a few claims, mostly weather related (we live in Kansas) and they have been very responsive, proactive and sensible with a quick settlement. My agent knows me by name and I appreciate that. A down to earth guy. My only concern, and I hope it never happens, is if something were to happen, will American Collectors be as easy and cooperative to work with. I hope to never know.

This was my first classic car so I had to learn the difference in insurance versus a daily driver. They offer great coverage for a low price. They are military friendly and the customer service was both, down to earth and professional. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of antique car/collector car insurance!
