Dealer Risk Services was founded in 1968 by W.O. (Hoot) Gibson as Amalex, Inc. in Bartow, Florida. From the early beginning, the firm exhibited the unique ability to place difficult and unusual exposures and quickly set itself apart from other agencies with an extraordinary commitment to service. In 1985, Steven Gibson joined his father's firm to serve as Vice President and Director of Marketing. He provided the company with a new sense of direction and growth. The firm became Gibson Insurance Group.
