Office Staff is very difficult to work with. I spoke with Carissa who answered phone today after 10minutes of going back and forth arguing for her to send a message to Dr. Barnett-Smith she finally agreed after asking her office manager who refused to speak with me. This is ridiculous because Im not feeling well and going back and forth with Carissa just to send an email to Dr increased my headache.
I expressed to her how much i did not feel good but she continued to be argumentative and make sarcastic remarks. I gave a 2 rating because Dr. Barnett Smith is pleasant to work with but her office staff is not. There's been many unfortunate situations when dealing with different people in the office and thats horrible how they treat people, from them almost never answering calls, having long wait times then hanging up, to them lying or not understanding the notes they are reading and I'm having to go back and forth to speak with manager to get call back days later and she clarifies that i was right, to today the staff not having any empathy or care for a patient expressing multiple times she doesn't feel well and having to go back and forth just to get an email sent, etc. Its ridiculous and this office needs to do better or they will lose patients 1 by 1 and then be out of a job.

I absolutely adored dr. Barnett Smith, only I had a really bad experiences with their front desk women that sat there, I walked in with an appointment a couple years ago, was maybe 5 minutes late, I was very ill my daughter had to drive me there drop me off at the door and there was no one sitting in the waiting room and they looked at the clock and they said we have a 15-minute rule so your appointments canceled I wasn't 15 minutes late at all.
I said I really needed to see the doctor and they said that's too bad I I can make another appointment down and come back another day. I also had a horrible time getting my records from them, because needless to say, I had to get another doctor oh, thanks to the front desk women

I was really looking forward to being treated by Dr. Barnett-Smith, as I've heard a lot about her, but it looks like I'll never get that chance. I made my appointment about 2 months ago for July 7. I received a voice mail on June 29th, to call the office regarding my appointment. I called back today, July 1st, and I was told that they're going to have to cancel my appointment, because they need to have my new patient paperwork 3 business days before my appointment, and they never received it. Now, when I made my appointment, I was told that I could indeed bring the paperwork in with me.
So I ask when could I reschedule for, and I'm told not until Dec. I can't wait that long to see a doctor, so I'm just going to have to look for another doctor. Very disappointed. Their scheduling is very unprofessional.

I contacted them via the "Contact us" link on their webpage asking for a quote on the 3 vehicle I own. No response after a week. I called them asking for a quote and Lisa told me that they don't do quotes over the phone, I would have to come into the office and that I should call in advance/make an appointment, and bring copies of my current policy.
I called the next day at 11:38 and was connected to Lyle. I asked Lyle if I could stop by at 12:15. He said yes. When I stopped by at 12:15 Lisa asked if I had an appointment. I explained the above to her and she said no one was available! She made copies of my current policy and said Lyle would call me. When I said "Yesterday you told me you don't do quotes over the phone" she responded with "Um. ah.well. we've noticed that when we did quotes over the phone people wouldn't call back, by coming into the office you're showing that you're willing to make a commitment." I gave her my phone # and email address(5 times because she couldn't find a working pen!) & she said someone would get back to me.
Later that day Lyle emailed me, asking for my date of birth & drivers license #(Am I the only person wondering why Lisa, who works in the insurance industry, didn't ask for that information up front?). I gave the information to Lyle. Never heard back from Lyle. If my speeding ticket 3 years ago was cause for them to deem me un-insurable, let me know. If they ran the numbers and saw that my current insurer is giving me a good rate, simply let me know. Not getting back to me, one way or another, is simply not acceptable.

I absolutly disagree with George. I have known Ted Barnett (retired) and Bob Smith a long time. They are great at taking care of all of my insurance needs. Recently the carrier of my homeowners insurance substantially increased their rates. Bob took the time to research and find me another carrier thus saving me over $1000.00 per year. And yes, they do take care of the small customers. I appreciate them being there.

I wanted a commercial policy. Talked to Mr. Smith. Told him my needs. Long story short - after hemming and hawing around a lot, he told me a couple of times he did not have a product for me. I finally said "what you really mean is that you don't want to waste your time on me, correct?" Long pause. "Yes" was his reply. So if you don't have insurance needs large enough to buy Mr. Smith a new boat, don't waste his time.
Bottom line? Don't waste your time on these people. If you're too small, they apparently do not want your business. Bad people skills, bad public relation skills, arrogant. Not the agent for you.
