I looked for an opportunity in direct marketing for communication skills. The first few weeks were intense because there's a lot of training involved. Every day is different. I got to spend time with the managers and the best people in the team. Everyone was really supportive and I want to return the favor by giving my best. Someone who works hard and is coachable can achieve more than someone who is just naturally talented.

I appreciate that the company understands the fine line between giving someone the knowledge and training them. Training is about developing that person to meet a set standard, just passing the induction is just for you to reach the minimum criteria. Here, you focus on bettering yourself, even if you already meet high targets. I've been training hard, applying myself and making a lot of progress because I feel I'm finally ready for more responsibilities. Managing people is more than just numbers, as you often have to motivate and inspire others. It is important for the company to provide good support to the team and for managers to give real feedback and set a proactive pace for the team.

I started without very basic marketing knowledge. I gradually developed by applying myself and making the changes my coaches suggested. It's been useful to keep an open mind and stay coachable. The managers have been very supportive lately with the whole situation. They are available for one on one training and still organise morning meetings. You can progress on your skills by going on business trips to other offices around the Uk and train with their teams.

A lot of the managers come from sports backgrounds or like sports, which reflects in the culture. Very competitive mindset. Good incentives and end of the year bonuses. Very generous winter incentives to make sure we get an amazing time with our family. Working hard is worth it and rewarded with bonuses and career progression.
