I have been a customer of Jacob's Insurance for years. In that time, I have had a couple different insurance policies. They have always been courteous, responsive to my questions, helpful and quick to resolve my claim when I wrecked my vehicle and gotten me new insurance with great rates the few times I wanted to switch. I have the highest respect for this agency.

Absolute nightmare to work with. We tried to cancel insurance on a vehicle we were not driving at all and had even removed the license plate. They refused to cancel it. Finally, we purchased a new vehicle and transferred the plates to that vehicle and only then would they send us the cancellation paperwork. However THEY filed it wrong with AAA and 10 months later we're still fighting with AAA over a bill we've been overcharged on because Jacobs filed it incorrectly with a later cancellation date. We dropped AAA and Jacobs completely and went with Liberty - cheaper and so much better service.

Because this company failed to change my payment info as requested, I came back from an extended vacation to a cancellation notice AND a nice overdraft fee from my old bank. They offered nothing but excuses and did nothing to rectify the situation. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and apologizing for it, I was told that I never requested my payment information to be changed (LIE) and that it was MY fault for not checking my bank statements! Thanks for the terrible customer service, Amanda. Bill with Wentworth in St. John's was able to get me a lower quote anyways.

I was very disappointed in the service here. If there is an issue, the girls in the office get defensive instead of fixing the problem. I was quoted a lower rate for my car insurance by at least two other places (still waiting on a couple call backs). If you are currently a customer, make some calls to other agencies -- I guarantee a lower rate elsewhere.
