I have had a best life silver dental plan for 2 years and have been very happy with the service! Recently I was having major issues with my state health exchange which connected me to Best Life. My state health exchange was totally unhelpful and unresponsive to help me resolve my issues. So I called Best Life and talked to them about the problem and they went above and beyond to help me get around my terrible state health exchange and resolve my issues. Thank you guys! Rep I talked to was named Shelia and she was great! 5 stars for her and Best Life!

I just received my Jan 2022 billing statement with an $8.79 monthly increase. When I asked them about the increase they said they don't send out a notice of rate increase and that the only way their members will know is from the billing statement. Seems to be a pretty poor business practice not to mention raising their rates over $8 bucks a month is ridiculous.

As stated by others this company has fraudulent practices that they admit to but state are ok because it's their policy. I canceled my coverage through the marketplace on July 31st. The marketplace stated I did not need to contact them because the marketplace notified them of the cancelation. Upon speaking with Best Life they stated they were notified of this cancelation as well.
They charged me premium for both August and September. When I stated that was illegal as my approval for coverage was based on unemployment and I had employer coverage starting August 1st they said they weren't covering me but still charging me because I didn't contact them directly separate from the cancelation notice they t received from the marketplace.
So they admit they didn't provide me coverage (would be illegal as I was not approved to have coverage once I had employer coverage) but charged me a premium for a policy that didn't exist. I will be contacting the Iowa Attorney General.

My family we using BEST Life Dental for about 5 years and we so happy with this insurance. We have not encountered any issue with paying claims or not covering any dental work. Even big ticket items such as 4 and 3 wisdom teeth extraction operations were covered and we were left only with an small deductible amount to pay. Contacting customer service is also not issue. Payments / auto payment you have be monitor for the first two month.
They are using different computer systems (account mgt vs payments) and for some payment activity you cannot do it yourself online and have to call in. Anyhow I recommend it.

Very disappointed. I paid my invoice for them and cancelled on the same day after I found out they wouldn't cover hardly anything. I can save more money paying out of pocket and taking a cash discount then waiting a year before they would cover anything. While the phone receptionist was super nice, they won't refund me the month I had literally just paid. So I basically paid $64 to find out they won't cover anything. : Super bummed with them as a company. If you have to get dental insurance, better try somewhere else.

This company is a full blown scam. I'm surprised that no governmental agencies have looked into them or their practices. I canceled my dental plan in March through the Nevada Healthlink Marketplace because I now have dental through my employer. They continued to charge me for 4 months. I tried calling a few times but was either on hold for a long time or it was after hours.
Today I spoke to an agent that acknowledged that they could see that my plan was canceled on 3/31/2020 but they had the right to still charge me. None of this makes any sense. They admitted that my coverage was canceled, they charged me for 4 months after it was canceled and now they won't refund me. I notified the BBB and will be writing a letter to the State Attorney's Office in California and Nevada regarding this matter.

Was not aware that at the end of the year the policy would automatically renew. I was instructed that I would be refunded the money minus the 7 days that i had it available in January. I was initially instructed I would get my refund by March 27th. No refund was received. They then instructed me that they put a RUSH order and in 7-10 days I would receive it. Its over 10 days and at this point they are no longer responding to messages.

The worst. Contract said no waiting period for intermediate services (fillings, etc.). Put in a claim for fillings- denied. Claimed there's a 6 month waiting period. Agents agreed I was right but got no result so filed an official appeal through email. was told it may take up to 30 business days to have appeal processed. I told them that was unacceptable and that was going to call the Better Business Bureau. Surprise- they suddenly expedited my claim and said they are sending my provider a check for $296.
So don't give up on a claim if you feel you are in the right. But once my dentist gets the payment I'm outta there. The Obamacare / marketplace need to throw these scam companies out.

Cancelled this worthless policy, they drew additional funds before I cancelled the auto pay through the market place, and that allowed them to "reinstate my policy", cancelled again now will take them two months to return the money. Simple before you do anything with this company call them at 1800-433-0088, if your wait time is more then ten minutes, mine was 40 tonight, then run. If they answer sooner run faster - I should have read all the other reviews below.

If I could give a lower star I would. I transferred from Spirit Dental to Best thinking it would be more affordable. I needed to have extractions done. Unfortunately there is a year wait for anything outside of a basic cleaning it seems. Do not get this dental plan. I am upset with the coverage. On top of that they have no problem taking multiple payments for the same month. I had to call to get that fixed but the system hangs up if no one can pick up. Truly pissed I came to them

If I could give negative star I would! Switched over dental insurance beginning of 2018 to Best Life. My bad.didn't read fine print but basically no coverage for first year as there is a waiting period! I have had continuous dental coverage for at least 20 years without a break and then I get this crap insurance! Will be switching insurance companies! Do NOT get this insurance!

Customer service is piss poor. For those dumb enough to actually buy insurance through this company (like I was) WATCH OUT! I cancelled my plan in March and they kept charging me through May until I saw the charges on my card. Apparently you need to call twice - once to cancel the plan, and once to cancel the automatic payment process. This company is DEFINITELY a scam trying to steal as much money from people as possible. Never again.

This company should get negative stars, and should be the Defendant in a class action lawsuit. I don't understand how this company is on the healthcare.gov Marketplace. After paying the first invoice, I was double billed for the second, and billed again two days later because I signed up for auto pay. Despite making four months' payments, we never received insurance cards.
Without an identification number, you can't login to the website. We attempted to call them at least ten times at different times of the day. We were always placed on hold and eventually disconnected. The reason we selected this company on the Marketplace is because they list our dentist on their website as accepting their insurance. However, when we went to the dentist, he had never heard of this company and does not accept this insurance.
I have filed a complaint with the Department of Insurance of California. I suggest other victims do the same. If you are considering buying insurance from this company, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!

THIS INSURANCE IS A SCAM STAY AWAY! HERE'S MY STORY WITH THEM.I terminated by coverage at the beginning of April through the marketplace (which is where I signed up for the insurance) and got a termination date of 4/27/18. I was not notified from the marketplace or Bestlife that I needed to contact Bestlife directly when terminating my coverage to stop the automatic payments.
So I was charged on 5/1/18 and when I called to see why I was charged I was told that I needed to give a 14 day notice to stop payments. But I assumed that I had already done this because I terminated my coverage at the beginning of April and was given a termination date. So then I was told by the supervisor Shawn from the escalations department that I do not need to make assumptions, and that they do not work off of assumptions.
But yet that's a lie because I was told since my payment went through the company ASSUMES I still want my coverage. So it is okay for the company to take my money and just assume I still want coverage but not okay for me to assume that since I TERMINATED my coverage that I will not get charged. And like I stated before I was not notified by anyone that I needed to contact Bestlife directly nor when I signed up for automatic payments that I need to contact directly and give a 14 day notice to stop payments.
This information was at no time ever disclosed to me. And another thing Shawn discussed with me is that they can not go off of the information they received from the Marketplace concerning my termination, but yet you can get all my other information from the Marketplace as far as wanting to sign up and what not. This to me does not make sense. I am very upset with this company and the customer service and they are refusing to give me a refund.

I purchased my Dental Insurance through Best Life for 2017. While I was traveling for a month, there was an issue with my automatic payment as I had lost my credit card and failed to update it in the system, causing my coverage to be discontinued. Knowing that I evenutally was in need of a root canal and Crown, I called Best Life to see if I could have it re-instated, explaining that I was going to need this procedure in the very near future.
The agent was understanding and quickly took my new credit card info, and understandably, charging me for the one month of missed payments and the following month. However, since i was still in my first year, I later found out that the entire claim was declined. While I did need this procedure, I easily could have waited two months to have it done till my year anniversary IF the agent that took my payment AND made comments that they were glad they could help. After getting the declination letter, I filed an appeal that was ALSO denied. Needless to say, I AM NO LONGER (AND NEVER WILL BE) a customer of BEST LIFE.

Worst experience I've ever had with dental insurance in my life. They charged me an extra month and refused to refund me after I chose not to renew in January. So look at your bill an notice how they charge you for 2 months in advance. You'll never see that money again unless you notify them in November. Don't bother with this company.

This is the WORST insurance company I have ever dealt with. I am furious with this company and believe BEST Life is a scam. DO NOT purchase insurance from them. I signed up in December and started automatic payments for 2018. The website would not verify my information so I was unable to set up an online account. I have no way of accessing my insurance information or confirming my payments.
I tried calling multiple times and the automated response states lines are busy and you should try your call again later, then hangs up on you. So I emailed them. FOUR TIMES. They never responded despite automatic replies saying you will receive a response in 1-3 business days. Well, it's been 2 months. I have not received my insurance cards, however, I have received bills showing late payments due as though my reoccurring payment does not apply to my account. Today, I decided enough was enough and terminated my policy through the marketplace.
I have sent a LETTER to the company saying do not charge me further with hopes my automatic monthly payment will be stopped. Since I have no way of logging into an online account, and the phone line automatically hangs up when you call, I have no control over this. Hopefully the billing department is better than the nonexistent customer service department and takes the correct action on my account.

Purchased dental insurance for 2018. Paid premium a months and a half ago (early). Received no paperwork other than next month invoice. Create online account says you can get an id card online but fails to mention that the "Member No" it wants is different from the "Account No" it gives you on the invoice. Also, fails to mention the date format is "mm/dd/yy". Error message "can't find account" is far from useful. Waited on the phone for 45 minutes before I could speak to a human.

I have three separate claims for dental work, which was all pre-approved by BEST LIFE. This began on June 5th, again on June 7th and again on June 14th. I have not received a penny. Today was my second call about these claims. June 5th was supposedly mailed out seven days ago. June 7th is about to be mailed out (43 days after the procedure). The June 14th claim has not even been processed, because according to the company representative, "System issues caused our problems." Whatever that means. I am sick of wasting time on this.

Got notice from them that they were automatically renewing my dental insurance for 2018. Only a couple problems: 1. My insurance was not with them in 2017, 2. they have 2 different customer numbers in 2 different letters (sent the same day). Called, initially got someone on the phone, and when I told them what I wanted they put me on indefinite hold (over 15 minutes). Sounds like a scam.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Aside from the coverage, everything else about my experience has been terrible. It takes a minimum of 2 months to receive a claim check after a service. They've sent my past claim checks to the wrong place every time. I am constantly having to call to get answers which they usually can't provide. The entire experience has been nothing but stress about when I'm going to receive my claim check IF AT ALL.
