I have my house and three vehicles insured here. i have a couple of claims regarding storm damage which were resolved was quickly. when a tree fell on the house they waved the deductible. something about a regional storm event or something. Anne always follows up to make sure there were no problems and to see how we are doing.

We were loyal customers of Amherst Insurance for 30 years. Last year we temporarily lived in another state for several months while on sabbatical. We informed Amherst Insurance, but somehow they made mistakes, which resulted in the insurance companies canceling all of our policies. Amherst Insurance would not take responsibility for their mistakes and reinstate our policies. So we move to another agency.

I have had Amherst Insurance for a few years now with no real issues until today. I purchased a new vehicle from a local dealership, the process was awesome, went right through the financial portion of it and was told the final step was waiting for my RMV-1 form to be stamped by my insurance company. An hour passes and my salesmen made several attempts to contact Amherst insurance.
When he finally reached the receptionist it was explained that they did not receive the fax, he confirmed the fax number and faxed it for the third time. When I called it was explained to me that they we short staffed today and did not have anyone authorized to stamp my form so I could take my brand new car today. NO ONE QUALIFIED?! I WAS SHOCKED!
I have been waiting here coming on two hours to find out they were wasting my time. Thank you Amherst Insurance for your un-professionalism, were you scared to be honest with a customer and say you could not do this right up front?! Instead of wasting my time? You made up my mind today I am switching to an alternative insurance company that cares about it's customers. I will let anyone who will listen know the horrible experience I have had with you.
