The John H. Huffines Agency was opened in 1895 by John H. Huffines and renamed The Powell Agency by Miss Laura Powell when she bought it in 1918. E. Stuart Powell, Miss Laura's nephew, joined the Agency in 1929, and his son E. Stuart Powell, Jr. took over active management in 1976. He purchased the Agency from his mother Margaret Powell in 1976.

The people there are very loving and caring and try their best to help others that are in temporarily bad situations or any situation for a matter of fact the owners are some of the most respectable people that I know they take responsibility for makings their community safe and a wonderful place people are proud to be from.
